OT: TV and Movie Thread (with spoilers)

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:41 pm

Other thread maxed out.

Although spoilers are fine please use some descretion when discussing details of recent shows/movies. Use spoiler tags if necessary
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Watched the premiere of Manifest. Not sure how I feel about it yet, but it was interesting enough that I'll tune in next week. I thought the acting started out pretty bad though, so I hope that improves.

Agreed. Interesting concept. I'll see where it goes for awhile.

The writing staff for the Veronica Mars revival includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Yes, I'm being serious.

Are there any decent new shows people are excited about? I've pretty much seen no new stuff advertised so have no idea what to check out.

I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Lethal Weapon and it was a bummer to see Clayne Crawford fired. Sean Williams Scott is his replacement and if the first episode last night is any indication, I might be dumping the show. That said, it was good seeing Maggie Lawson working again.

Just went to see "A Simple Favor" last night at Marcus and it was great! If your girl wants to go see this one.... take her!

Plowing through Better Call Saul and I prefer it to Breaking Bad.

I know some people who feel the same way. I like BCS but I still prefer BB. While it's interesting to see how things developed pre BB the fact that we know the outcome of most (not all) of these characters and plots diminishes BCS somewhat. I hope at some point they jump past BB and go full time to Omaha. I don't know if Gilligan ever plans to do that though or if he will end BCS where BB begins. But I think there's a reason he jumps to Omaha at the beginning of each season. We'll see.

Gosh I hope so (continuing the Omaha story). I was thinking the same thing. That show could go on for years. I love the slow burn and could watch Odenkirk all day and night.

SNL-Mr. Show-BB/BCS. He's been a huge part of entertaining me for years.

Just finished S2 of American Vandal, and while it definitely wasn't as funny as S1, it was still good in completely different ways, especially the last episode. Makes me grateful I didn't grow up with social media.

Just saw the new trailers for Creed 2 and Xmen Dark Pheonix......

Creed 2 continues to look amazing.....

Somehow it looks like FOX once again thought it was a good **** idea not to make the Pheonix it's own **** entity and instead just Jeans own powers. God I hope the trailer is just misleading but let's be real.... Probably isnt. This is a cinematic universe with a guy that can destroy the earth by ripping metal out of the ground, a talking blue fur ball that teleports, shapeshifters, a girl that run through walls, a girl that controls all weather, a guy able to turn his entire body metal, a guy who's entire skeleton is metal, a guy who can link up to every mind on the planet and time travel but nope... A **** Cosimc Entity is just too far out there apparently

(sorry I just really hated the last stand)

Sunny was amazing last night after a slow start. Dennis is the best character on that show and it's not even close.

Blasphemy. It's Charlie. It's always Charlie.

Just started 'The Deuce' this past week. Gotta say, seeing some of my favorite 'The Wire' characters as pimps or cops is quite pleasing. Anyhow, in season 1 and enjoying it so far. Maggie Gyllenhaal is great as always.
