Play Thon/Smith when necessary.

Bledson/DiVinzenzo
Brogdon/Connaughton
Middleton/Porter
Giannis/Porter/Ersan
Lopez/Ersan/Thon

Porter would explode in this system.

No doubt, but he'd cost more than this, right? Unless Ernie is REALLY pinching pennies and wanting to shed the majority or Otto's PO year.

Getting Otto Porter would be amazing. I would trade anyone of Delly, Snell, Henson, Brogdon, Thon, DJ, Wood...

Otto Porter would be perfect for this team, but recall that he's also making 26MM/27MM/28MM the next three seasons beyond this one. That's...a lot of money. You better win this year, because I can't imagine you are re-signing Middleton and Bledsoe with that deal on the books.

Still a firm believer that Korver would help immensely on nights like last night where no one else can hit a three.

Objectively inaccurate.

30.7% from 3, 38.3% overall. Negative DBPM. And he's 31 coming off injury. He might not be toast, but he's not Wonder bread.

You get a chance to watch Conley vs the Bucks or nah? He’d be a massive upgrade.

Mike Conley is really really good when he's healthy. Problem is, he's never healthy, and he's owed a ton of money.

He’s healthy right now. “It’s not my money” only applies to Snell and Delly types?

Is he gonna be healthy for the next 3 seasons at $30 mil plus? Cuz his $34 mil in 2020-21 is completely guaranteed if he just plays in 50 games either this year or next.

I think that injury guarantee is actually great insurance. If he plays we benefit on the court, if he doesn’t we pay him 12 million less. Thinking about the extra space and freedom he’d have with this roster make Conley really appealing for me.

Great insurance? He's still owed 97m and you may cut him for 12m less if he can't reach 55 games neither this year nor next year. What are you going to do if he can't stay healthy? Be glad that you can cut him in his last year for 22m? I'm fine trading for him if all it takes is Delly/Snell/etc., but that contract is still gross.

Korver/George Hill package seems more attractive than Mike Conley if Cavs would take Snell/Delly plus a DJ or whatever

This seems like the kind of thing Gery might really have inside info about, or what do we think?

One of the shooters who has piqued Budenholzer’s curiosity is one of his former players when he coached the Atlanta Hawks: Kyle Korver. Korver spent five seasons in Atlanta and earned a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team in 2015 while being coached by Budenholzer.

According to sources, the Cavs are seeking a first-round pick for Korver, although the prevailing feeling among several NBA officials is that no team will likely agree to the Cavs’ asking price.

It’s no secret the Bucks are looking to trade veteran reserve guard Matthew Dellavedova who is a former Cavaliers fan favorite. Dellavedova began his NBA career with the Cavs in 2013 and spent three seasons with them before being dealt to Milwaukee in the summer of 2016 for Albert Miralles and $200,000.

If the Cavs were to take on Dellavedova, they would likely request a draft pick or young player as well, especially considering Dellavedova will be paid $9.6 million this season and $9.6 million next season. League sources said Thon Maker, who makes $2.8 million this season, D.J. Wilson, who makes $2.5 million, or Christian Wood, who makes $1.5 million. would be potential candidates in a Korver-Dellavedova deal. Like Dellavedova, Maker, Wilson and Wood are buried on the Bucks’ depth chart.

What kind of pick/s do we think the Bucks would include to close this deal?

If we could do it including only one or two 2nd rounders I imagine we pull the trigger.

Snell has started the year off strong but his clock disappears if we get Korver. This would also clean up our cap sheet longer term.

Cavs would have to value Snell highly enough to take on years of his contract though. Or the Bucks offer a 1st or something of greater value than what's here so far.

I don't like this scenario because we take on salary.

Regardless of the Bucks taking on salary, why in the world would Cleveland do this?

Well that's where the picks would have to come in to entice them. They would do it for the picks, plus making tanking easier, plus doing a good deed for these Vets by letting them go to a contender. they also save a bit on money (tax), but I'm sure would need draft pick enticement.

Can we get Korver please, that would be awesome. They can have Delly back, Wilson so they get some kind of young talent, and a 2nd for their troubles. I do like the idea of Hill/Korver for Delly/Snell/DJ/2nd too. Gets us out of some longer term money and we get the better players.
