Re: Bucks FA Thread
My guy Jock Landale movin on up to the Euroleague to play for Sarunas Jasikevicius at Zalgiris. I wanted him on a 2-way but this is probably the right move. If Jock plays as well as well in the Euroleague has he did for Partizan he'll be getting a bunch of NBA looks next summer.

People are forgetting it's a 3-year deal with team option for fourth. So a 3/$54.
$17mm a year is market for a top-15 starting PG who can blow up the point of attack of the opposition.
Our problem is we don't have a reliable second superstar, so stuff falls back on Bledsoe that he's not capable of. And if he was capable of it, he'd be getting a $30mm max deal.

The playoffs is where it all matters though. Like a final exam in college, it doesn't matter how you did on your quizes.
I don't agree he has been up and down in the playoffs. More down and sideways.
I think he is tradeable with his contract and he is better suited for another team than this one.
Still think we should trade him for a Landry Shamet type and relieve his salary while doing so. Bucks want shooters galore around Giannis, might as well have a shooter at the point. Kill that wall around Giannis.

Re: Bucks FA Thread
We will see if Bledsoe earns his contract if he can hold Steph Curry from exploding for 35 points every night.
I have been disappointed in his offense in Celtics/Raptors series, but he brings a defensive edge that few other PG's possess.

Bledsoe has struggled a bit offensively in the playoffs but he is still a very important piece to the team defense. He is also more explosive than anyone on the team not named Giannis and he's locked in at 17 mil a year for the next 3 years. I think he is still very much a bargain. If he was capable of consistently being a force on defense and offense he'd be a max player.
only a fan, only an opinion

I get it that Bledsoe's defense is very good.
But here's the thing. The cap is finite. Who are you not bringing back to keep Bledsoe? All our free agents are shooters which Bucks management insists is the recipe to the Bucks success.

I think purely from a roster construction standpoint Brogdon is a little easier for us to substitute with some combination of Brown/DVD/PatC. But Khris is our only long wing that you can put on guys like KD and Kawhi, he'd leave a big gap on D.
I still like Brogdon better as a player though.

Raptors fan here, how much is Brook Lopez worth?
is he under at or above the MLE ?

Based upon his contributions this season, he's worth more than the MLE. What he actually signs for depends on the market and Brook.
I could see Atlanta, New Orleans, and Sacramento having major interest. Perhaps Toronto if Gasol opts out and signs elsewhere.

If Bledsoe is just a career playoff loser I want no part of him, he has been consistently outplayed by George Hill there entire playoffs.

Do Bucks have to choose between Middleton and Brogdon?
Now with news of Giannis as all-NBA, they're also talking about how he's eligible to sign the biggest extension yet next year.
Of course signing him is a must.
But how much of the team can they keep intact? Hell Lopez is up too.
And will that decision depend on whether they win the chip or not?

How much under the cap can we be by renouncing Middleton & Mirotic, and declining Hill's option? Im not dreaming of a max player but I think I'd rather spend the money on Lopez and Hill

Hill is partially-guaranteed for $1m out of $18m so we'd have to cut him.
If we cut Hill and renounce Middleton and Mirotic, we'd have $77.1m on the books for a $109m cap.
The holds on Brogdon and Lopez take up $7.1m of that, while Snell + Bledsoe would take up $27m.
If this is the Bledsoe and Middleton we're going to get every playoffs, and we max Middleton, then things aren't going to be looking too good.
