Carter Gilmore was originally recruited by the UW rowing team. His father Duke and mother Wendy are alumni. They bankrolled the south lawn sprinkler system that was installed in 2011. His brother trains horses for the U.S. Men’s Polo team.

Sounds like the bio for the white point guard from Duke.

Man, if I had a scholarship offer from Brown, I don’t think I could turn that down to be a walk on here. But, happy to have him.

Badgers offer 6'7" kid Brandon Angel. Go check out who else is recruiting him. A veritable who's who of teams who could only dream of sniffing the top 25.

They got a commit from a different PF tonight (Hodges). I also think they’ve got the inside track on Matthew Mors so that should be good for 2021 PFs.

No idea on Hodges but they’ve got a good group coming in for the run after Reuvers/Davison/etc. especially if they get Mors.

Gard offered like 5 or so guys in the last year with the “lol look at that offer list” and by the time they committed they were too good for Wisconsin and 4-stars.

Say what you will about actually closing but usually they’re early on rising players. No idea with Angel, though.

Especially if it’s a 2021 kid the offers will not be rolling in. The top 15 teams lurk and offer very late.

Hodges sounds like a glasseater and Purdue was showing interest. For a sophomore, had a decent confirmed offer list though UW was the best of them. Played up a level in AAU just like Bowman. When Wisconsin recruits well, it's usually because they were early to the party.

His final 4 are Cal, Wisconsin, Utah & Stanford.

Exaggerate much?

I get what you're saying but this is the level of teams UW has recruited against for 80% of their recruits for 2 decades...unless it's someone like Dekker or Herro that they get early before anyone notable has offered and the bluebloods come in later or Stone/Looney/Johnson who they don't have much of a chance on.

Seemed like kinda a nonstory to me but whatever.

Also, the offer was a while ago. He just had his final 4 list yesterday, apparently.

Yeah, I expected to see a bunch of MAC schools or MIssouri Valley or something.

Wisconsin has made a killing on players with worse offer lists than 4 P5 schools. Of course you already know that, yet here we are.

I'm not sure if anyone is ever expecting something like Kaminsky to come up again but they definitely do their thing with guys of that caliber. Kaminsky was honestly just a fallback option after a few misses but recruiting guys from this pool is not really a sign of the program falling off a cliff or something...they're trying to do what they did before. Whether they can has been the debate on here for 3+ years.

Happ had even less of a list because he committed so quickly and obviously given his weird skillset may have never drawn a ton of interest. UWM, UWGB offers and Creighton/ASU apparently contacted him but never offered.

Don't worry they'll get a white big guy so all of the people that follow UW basketball just to make fun of it will have their time in the sun.
