Bill Burr’s bit on losing his religion with the curling metaphor is an all time great comedy bit:

Cool. First season was pretty solid.

Two possible outcomes when I watch El Camino next month. It will suck and I'll be pissed that they didn't leave well enough alone. Or it will be good and I'll be pissed they didn't just do a new series ala Better Call Saul.

Watched S1 of Jack Ryan on Amazon. Pretty solid but couldn't get over one thing...

Spoiler:
I cannot fathom how they would let the family have cell phone / internet access while under CIA protection, allowing the older girl to message her brother. Makes absolute no sense given the situation

Ad Astra is getting some really good reviews. Anyone see it?

I know this is saying something but after watching Screwball on Netflix about the biogenesis scandal, a-rod is one of the weirdest mother frickers in the history of sports.

Also, the lower level dudes and Bosch are a Hollywood script waiting to happen.

Very nearly went with the lady tonight. Instead, we stayed in and watched Bad Times at the El Royale, as well as the new Bill Burr Netflix special. We had been putting off Bad Times and we love Bill, so it was a delightful night. Still wanna see Ad Astra though, as we loved Interstellar and enjoy Tommy Lee Jones and Brad Pitt.

See some Billy Burr chatter in here. I've been a huge fan since college (~a decade ago) and had the pleasure of meeting him through work a couple of years ago. Super nice guy, was so appreciative of my helping him that he gave me two VIP tix to his show in Irvine, CA and it was a night I'll never forget... even if his material didn't do great with the Orange County crowd.

Speaking of stand-up, if you haven't checked out Nate Bargatze's Netflix special, do it. Laughed my ass off, we're seeing him live next month in LA.

EDIT: Sorry, man, took a weird turn there.

Watched this the past couple of days, very good.

God, I live for this true crime ****, watching now. I've got podcast recommendations out the ass for this genre if anyone here is into that.

I watched the Between Two Ferns movie. Some laughs but mostly meh. The non interview stuff was pretty blah save for one or two of the Will Ferrell scenes.

Jharrell won, though. :D I write for actors to shine, not for myself. See: Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, The.

Pretty big announcement coming soon. Pretty sure you guys will dig the next one.

I hope it's a superhero movie.

America needs a good superhero movie right now.

Yep

Spoiler:
Thought it was garbage for the most part. I really enjoyed the book and was such a huge fan of both the original miniseries and first chapter to the remake.

There were entertaining parts for sure. Bill Hader was fantastic. I also respect the ways they tried to follow the novel a little more closely than the miniseries. It's just.. they could have followed it a little bit more. It's not a purist perspective, but it might have led the casual viewer to leave only thinking "that was dumb", rather than "that was dumb and confusing". Somehow they managed to make a 3 hour movie feel rushed, and showing so many clips from chapter 1 probably didn't help (not talking about new scenes with the kids).

I'd recommend any fan sees it, but IMO if Ch 1 is 9/10, then Ch 2 is 6/10.

Yeah, It 2 had potential but wasn’t great. Hader was awesome, as was the guy who played Eddie. The jump scares and rubbery CGI were corny and deflated any genuinely creepy moment. Jessica Chastain had nothing to do.

What's everyone's feelings on the up coming breaking bad movie?

I'm excited, but nervous. The finale was perfect. So I don't want this to screw it up.

I'm predicting Jesse ends up in Omaha with Gene (Saul) and they keep Better call Saul going post breaking bad with Jesse involved.

That sucks because I thought It part 1 was a 6/10. It makes sense, though - the parts of the book featuring the kids were by far the best bits. It would have been tough to make a better movie out of the adult portions.
