I loved The Handmaiden too.

Watched the series Locke & Key with my daughter, great concept but terrible execution.

ETA - anyone watch the October Files on Netflix? Looks like something I could get into.

Rewatching Reaper for the 3rd time. It's available without commercials on the ABC site. Easily my most underrated comedy of the last 10 years, up there with Happy Endings.

My wife made fun of me for years because of how hard I took its cancellation. I haven't heard anyone talk about it since. I'm thrilled it stands up.

I didn't really see anything else this year, so I'm not speaking to it and Oscars success as I don't have a base to judge from, but I know people who freak.out. over this movie.

But again, I did really like it. I was wondering in what way the second half was going to unfold and I was not disappointed. I also was not expecting it.
I really do hope that Parasite leads to people exploring Korean cinema. I liked it a lot but it was almost tame compared to a lot of Korean movies. If you like "guy" movies the list of must see movies is incredibly long:

Vengeance trilogy:
Oldboy
Sympathy for Mr Vengeance
Lady Vengeance
(To be clear they are not related in any way other than theme)

The Man From Nowhere

The Good the Bad and the Weird

I Saw the Devil

Bong Joon Ho movies:
Memories of Murder
Mother
The Host

That's just to get you started. It's an incredible journey and even though Parasite isnt my favorite of these it's high time Korean filmmaking is rewarded for their excellence.

I'll second that. from that list my personal faves - The Man from Nowhere, I Saw the Devil, Oldboy, Mother, The Host (which is even better if you smoke weed).

I saw the devil is probably the best film I never want to see again.

Rewatching season 4 of better call Saul to refresh myself for Sunday's season 5 premier....great show, and Lalo is such a great character.
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

Oh man, yeah, I'm stoked about that coming back. I recall maybe like s2 and s3 dragging on a bit like they were trying to stretch this out and make more $ (not unusual) but it really started to get good again in s4. So s5 is gonna be good, I'd think.

Wife is out of town so I can catch up on all the movies (and eat steak)...

Parasite: Amazing movie. The screenplay was a no brainer for the Oscar. Much better than Gone With the Wind. Certainly worthy of the best picture win.

1917: Wow. A technical masterpiece. I sat there for five minutes unable to move while the credits rolled. The cinematography is breathtaking. Some say "gimicky" but F those people. It's an astounding achievement. Deakins should just get the award every year. The other thing I noticed was the ridiculous attention to detail in the set design. I think they got jobbed out of the Oscar.

I'm going the whole way. I'm on S1e7. Such a great show. I haven't seen season 4 yet, so I figured what the hell.

I gave up on BCS after season 2 because it was just too damn depressing. But all the praise it's been receiving recently makes me thing I should get back on it, starting from scratch.

But between BCS, the second half of the final season of Bojack, the New Pope, and Curb, it's hard to find the time to hoover up so much good content.

First 3 eps of BCS have been good.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Not really interested in more Batman, but I dig the muscle car look.
