http://www.sportspromedia.com/most-marketable/2019/50-most-marketable-2019-giannis-antetokounmpo

Greek, 24, Basketball

The Greek who has freaked his way to the top and looks set to stay

Representatives: Octagon, Alex Saratsis

Key partners: Nike, JBL, Hulu, T-Mobile, 2K Sports

From the NBA's most improved player in 2017 to its most valuable last time out, Giannis Antetokounmpo has risen inexorably to become the standout dominant force in a league of dominant forces.

In spearheading the Milwaukee Bucks’ transformation from perennial underachievers to genuine championship contenders, ‘The Greek Freak’ has proven that the relative confines of a small market franchise need not be an impediment to global superstardom. A complete and superbly consistent performer on the court, not to mention a socially engaging personality with a huge and loyal following off it, this 6’11 power forward has, almost single-handedly, turned the Bucks into a national story and an international brand in their own right.

Once a seller of knock-off sunglasses and watches on the streets of Athens, Giannis now helps hawk Nike products - including his newly released signature shoe, the Freak 1 - in markets around the world. His larger-than-life likeness is emblazoned on billboards on both sides of the Atlantic. More endorsements are inevitable.

Giannis 6th most marketable athlete in the world in a list compiled by London-based media company SportsPro. How about that.

Giannis highlights from a juniors game in 2013.
That's why I hate it when people say he was raw when he arrived in the NBA. The guy was never raw, he was just thin. His technique was always advanced, and his shooting stroke was much more fluid when his arms looked almost human (and before JKidd fckd with his confidence).

That's a top 3 pick, had he played for a school in the states

That would be an interesting (theoretical) experiment: how would the top Euro prospects have turned out if they were born in the States. Giannis specifically would've greatly benefited for sure, if only from the access to advanced facilities and training staff and the increased attention from an early age. And he probably would have started playing much earlier too.
But someone like Jokic would've probably been cut from his NCAA team (too fat), in favor of someone like Myles Plumlee
I'm guessing Doncic would've probably turned into a giant A-hole, I think playing with men in Europe and as a result not being the biggest name on his team helped keep his ego in check.

Top 4 ... after Wiggins, Parker & Embiid. [\green]

Hambone would've taken him #2.

SI have wrongly put Giannis as the bet player in the league and there is not one single post about it?

Giannis isn't the bet player in the league. He is the best player in the league.

Have to wonder at what point Giannis gets recognized as the best player in the league. Overdue at this point imo

When he plays like it in the playoffs is my guess.

Giannis would never but he should absolutely bring the MVP trophy with him to Houston and leave it on the scorers table during the game.
