Re: Woj: Bucks to Re-Sign Khris Middleton to a 5 year, $178M Contract
So Mids is worth 35.6 mil a year and Lopez only 13?
Durant and Leonard max out at 40 per Middleton certainly not worth 35. Disgusted and thought they would do better than this.
Praying it's a sign and trade but realize it's a likely only a dream.
Likely going to have to remove my 2nd sig.

We win it all within this contract and no one cares about it.
Or we don't and it's a horrible boat anchor.

It's about to be a board full of old men yelling at clouds, moreso than it already is. Can't wait.M-C-G wrote:Not thrilled, was really hoping that 5th year was at least a TO. Middleton 'apologists', prepare for a very busy five years.
Anyway, if we can bring one of Brogdon or Hill back at this point, I don't really have a beef with bringing back almost all of a 60 win team, even if I hate this particular deal.

That is an interesting angle to this, I do wonder how he feels about this because he certainly appeared to be as frustrated as any of us on here with Khris at times last season.

Bud gave out some questionable deals himself. This deal isn't questionable honestly. What should have happened is that we trade Middleton before having to hand him this deal but now you just have to pay the man.

He'll opt out I'm pretty sure.
If he plays well, definitely. And if he plays well, I can stomach this.

My only hope was that the total would end up around $150m. This contract will be a disaster sooner or later. Praying for later.

We did not get it done with this group so why all the hope? I would not be surprised if we regress a little when teams just try to shut down Giannis.Turk Nowitzki wrote:msiris wrote:Nets are better than us. Durant and Irving is greater than Giannis and freeking way over paid Middleton.
If Durant returns from his Achilles injury at 32 years old exactly the player he was then maybe they have an argument. As it stands now there is no chance they are better than us. Hating Middleton's contract has no bearing on how good of a team the Bucks will be next year. I'm not sure why some can't separate those two things in this discussion.

Not mad at Khris. Hell, I'm not mad at the front office save for the player option, you doofs.

Looks like my posts about 5/175 being the compromise ended up being accurate. Wish we just did the 4 year max but glad he’s coming back

Amazingly, it is even worse than anticipated.
Someone please explain to me why you give him a PO in year five.

the only way a sane person does this is because that's what Giannis wants to stay long term right???

We were two wins shy of the NBA Finals and the team we were playing may be about to lose their best player. If we bring back Brogdon and Hill we are the clear favorites in the East. That's how I choose to rationalize this.

Well, this confirms all of the hints that we had deals done with Brook and Mids. Now it's all about The President.

The player option is probably why he was willing to take a discount

Imo it's going to be the same thing as Horford. He won't get more per year but probably a longer contract with enough overall $$$ to convince him to opt out. Honestly if that PO saved us any amount of money we'd have to add if it was a TO instead I'm happy.

Re: Woj: Bucks to Re-Sign Khris Middleton to a 5 year, $178M Contract
Same exact feeling as when we signed Tony Snell...only worse.
The ink isn’t even dry and this will end up being one of the worst contracts in team history. A lazy #3 role player who got benched for lack of hustle (in a Contract year) is locked into a fully guaranteed 5 year deal worth near max. This will kill us in 2-3 years. Our window to win it all is next year or bust because Giannis will want out.

We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.
