If my memory of the CBA is correct, a TPE carries an equal cap hold so I believe this means, we sign Brook, then Middleton to go over the cap, and then execute this trade to create a TPE or roughly $10 million (due to BYC). Or we execute the trade before the Middleton signing, don’t get a TPE, and waive Leuer to carve out $10 million for a free agent in addition to Brook.

No, I think it was really good.

Guess we're pretty alone on that island but I feel very confident with that take. We got a big return for a guy who wanted out and we weren't going to bring back.

Brogdon likely doesn't want to be in Milwaukee. If he won't sign with Milwaukee, would you rather him walk for nothing?

Not large enough.

What about jrue holiday?

This is pretty simple math. If Brogdon starts at around 21, that's the TPE. Both of those guys make more, so no.

I'm on this boat, but it depends on our next moves as well. I love Malcolm, but I never thought he would be back.

I'm right there with you guys. The Bucks are in a position to facilitate. Teams will need us.

It is good pending return on the TPE. I don't want to be sitting on that size TPE when the season starts.

So that Bledsoe extension looking more and more suspect in the context of making this kind of call with Brogdon.

Plenty of time for the front office to prove this is the right call. But if it's due to LED not wanting to pay luxury tax...

Without Brogdon and locked into Middleton for 178 mil

So if we peaked then why are people upset we didn’t spend almost $90 mil on Malcolm?

Okay the TPE actually makes it likely we might just swing that for another player to replace Brogdon.

Fully guaranteed 4/85 mil.

Thanks.

Man, I think that's a pretty reasonable contract tbh. Heavy sigh from me. Work some magic, Horst...

Furthermore, they lost Redick and possibly Butler. I think they'll regress

I love Brogdon and would have prioritized him ahead of Middleton. But I like the return and don’t think someone should fully judge this move until after we see if we can acquire something with the TPE

If they are signing Brogdon to be a Point Guard I could see instant buyers remorse.

Who cares if he didn’t want back? We held the cards. If we wanted him we should’ve kept him. If we didn’t want him, then I hope to God it’s because we have a better player in mind

Like, say, Houston shedding salary for Jimmy Butler? Where we replace Brogdon with Eric Gordon?
