I wouldn't say that, he kind of breaks the mold as far as elite athletes at his size & skill(which I think is being underrated). My main worry about him is if he can stay healthy playing the way he does as heavy as he is. It's hard to comprehend how big Zion actually is, the only guy listed heavier than him is 7'3" monster Boban Marjonovic. He might be the most jacked guy in NBA history and he's only 19 years old, unreal!

I thought that about Shaq when he first came into the league. I couldn't imagine a guy his size would last more than 7-9 years in the league. I was proven wrong.

I am a believer in Zion. From what I have read and watched, his skill is what has set him apart from the other players in college.

But Grandmama never had this type of weight issue at the start of his career.

He's not Tractor. Tractor never had this athleticism, speed and coordination.

Neither did Grandmama. Not even remotely close, even before the injuries.

He looks like a better Tractor Traylor to me. Apparently I'm wrong though, well see...

Obviously, perhaps not a #1 pick with hype but a better Tractor would have been pretty dang sweet!

For all the talk about the 3PT era and how it's a "shooter's league" now, you look at the list of Top-10 or so players and it's still mostly comprised of dudes who are physically dominant/freakish athletes (Giannis, Lebron, Kawhi, AD, Durant, Embiid, Paul George). So yeah, unless you're just god-tier skilled (Curry, Jokic, Harden), the freak athlete types are still the ones that almost always end up comprising the majority of the superstar player pool.

Yeah they also have some sort of length to go with their skillsets/athleticism either in wingspan or height, or both.

I could definately see where Zion averages 'just' 18 ppg but impacts the game in a big way. If that is a disappointment to some, so be it.

The 1st is commonly said about top prospects when its simply never true (there is always a chance of a player being a bust. Remember when AT WORST Wiggins was a lock to be at least a good wing defender?) and the 2nd is almost always unequivocally false their rookie years (no matter how much talent Zion flashes his rookie year it's extremely likely hes going to be a net negative when hes on the court)

Not that I’m close to saying auch things but it is worth mentioning: A rich man’s Jason Caffey...well...that’s a good player.

And a poor man's Jason Caffey is actually also Jason Caffey.

There are plenty of net negative players on PO teams every year. Zion would be one of the better ones.

Guaranteed Zion and anyone on NOP roster couldn't beat Grandmama and Steve Urkel 2v2. Theres no chance.

I wouldn't bet against Zion, but the mass on that frame will always be a concern to me.

You take that long to release a corner three you deserve to get blocked.

I think Zion will be a stud, top player in the league for sure, but I do NOT think he is the next LBJ, MJ or whatever great people are already comparing him to.

Blake Griffin? That's pretty much where I see Zion's ceiling offensively. Add in the defensive potential? That's one hell of a franchise player.
