They are "unlucky", they had many "injuries".

The Kuzma sprained ankle thing is so bogus and weak. Just call it what it is.

I couldn't watch the game live and managed to avoid any scores/spoilers. What an enjoyable win. :)

It's not panic stations yet for the USA, we are a pretty decent team. I'm sure they'll be fine.

I made the mistake of looking at the cesspool that is twitter after seeing the result, there's a hell of a lot more "terrible roster" "injuries!" than there is "hey, good job other team" out there. Obviously twitter's not a place to see a great deal of rational discussion, but it wouldn't be that hard to find out that Australia's missing some folks that might be handy, too (yes, yes full strength US would yadda yadda).

Yeah they're playing the right way offensively, just need to fix the D.

Yep, this is the issue. I mean isn’t Khris their best player, and it drops off from him?

Team USA will probably be going home from Tokyo pretty early.

I'd say Kemba is the best player from the games I've seen.

In theory, yes he should be. But is he? So far, perhaps not.

Little Game James? He wouldn't be the best player on the Grizzlies

Meh the US are still prob favourites to win but it’s close. Greece, Serbia, Spain will be right up there. If I had to pick a winner it’d be the US but def won’t be surprising if they don’t win it.

He was definitely the best player in the 2 games against us.

This roster is comparable to the 2002 team that went 6-3 and finished 6th in Indianapolis. The difference now is infrastructure and commitment. Like year’s team, that 2002 squad was hodgepodge of vets and young guys. They weren’t the cream of the crop but they were still the most talented team in the tournament. The difference is they were coached by a grumpy George Karl who scolded them at every turn and clearly failed to prepare them for international ball. Ironically Pop was an assistant on that staff. The tournament served as a catalyst for the type of championship basketball he wanted his Spurs to be playing. USA basketball was more of a Mom and Pop organization back then. Now it’s got an elite staff and infrastructure. The awareness and respect international competition is night and day. There’s no more “surprise factor” with how good the rest of the world is. Downtrodden as things appear to some, team USA still has the best 12 guys and the best staff by a wide margin.

Midds rocking the 0-8 shooting performance for 0 points with 4 TOs against Canada. Hopefully he's savings it all for the tourney...provided he gets on the floor.

Middleton was absolutely horrendous against Canada. Easily the worst player on either team.

Brook didn’t get in until late in the third but looked the most comfortable he’s been so far. Team USA has a much higher ceiling trying to get something out of Lopez instead of trotting Plumlee out there.
