Send our third string of stars to go up against Gobert, etc. and this is what you get.

Most of our guys looked completely disinterested. Middleton was awful.

Shooting 2-7 seems kind of awful.

Outside of Mitchell no one played well for the US.

Lot of takes about FIBA moving the WC to the pre-Olympic summer screwing the US but 1) France's best players played, while ours CHOSE to de-prioritize this tournament and 2) this makes for a much more interesting tournament.

So what does FIBA want? The best players or the best games?

He'd be J Balvin.

I thought Midds should have played more and the bigs were not used well. Why put your stretch bigs in or near the paint against Gobert? Whole point of having them is to not have to do that.

He's shooting 38% overall and 32% from 3 for the tournament, and has largely been the guard/wing getting the least amount of burn. Either Pop is doing Bud a favor by not burning Midds out, or Midds has just been that bad. I lean toward the latter.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not Khris Middleton was bad that they didn't stop to think if Khris Middleton was good

Wrong line from you. I was expecting something along the lines of:

"Friday is a no pressure, consolation game against Serbia. Midds is going off for 30"

8-)

Pop has been terrible. I don't know if he or the Greek coach was worse.

Is Pop shooting those shots for Middleton? Either way, I'll take the guy with five rings.
