Eh as long as the other top guards remain it shouldn't matter too much. Any further withdraw at guard hurts now, though.

So Middleton is probably a starter now right?

They’re down to Lillard/Kemba and Mitchell. It absolutely matters.

McCollum’s out. Middleton is closer to a four than a guard in FIBA ball.

Bruno Caboclo would be an all star if he played under Giannis "rules".

What do you think is more likely to happen now that he is skipping the tournament:

a)He learns how to shoot
b)Kendall gets pregnant

:D

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Lillard out too. This is a catastrophic look for USA basketball.

Should have called Otto Porter also. We have plenty of dudes to stomp through this WC if we pick the right ones.

I agree the overall talent gap remains big but in the past we’ve still needed clutch Durant bombs and prime Boogie smashing to pull away from teams who’ve been together forever and have well defined systems. The #1 superstar talent has what’s been able to help overcome the handicaps the USA faces in these tournaments. That’s gone now.

Still think the right mix of skilled, smart 2-way players wouldn't take much of Pop's time to whip into shape. Instead we've got this hodge-podge and it's going to get very dicey. I'm predicting a lot of Kemba and Donovan Mitchell hero ball.
