The developmental situation in Phoenix was an absolute dumpster fire. 3 different coaches, three different seasons. Hopefully some consistency and Bud's track of development gives him some confidence.

Wonder if we could have pushed for 3 years at the minimum to obtain full bird in case he makes progress.

Great signing for the last roster spot / low money. That Phoenix team and system was an absolute **** show and we take a tiny chance now to see if we can get anything out of him. Had so much potential and we only just need him to become a competent role player. Love it Horsty

Been accused of Croatian favoritism in the past, but since he’s been in the league I’ve been really down on Bender. Just thought he looked like a guy who didn’t like basketball. That said, this is a great use of a minimum contract. Give the kid his first taste of a stable, first class organization. Put him through Bucks university and see what happens. If he’s going to improve anywhere it’ll be after going up against Giannis every day. Would love to see him soak up a ton of minutes with the Herd as well.

Damn him still being only 21 is crazy. A lot of players, especially international guys can struggle being that young in the NBA when drafted as teenagers... Looking forward to seeing what he has

Team oriented 7 footer who moves his feet well, passes well, will get physical boxing out and setting screens. Short arms, too passive/indecisive with the ball and on the glass, hasn't shot well. If Bud can get him playing instead of thinking, still think there could be something there. Has a natural feel.

This is the huge advantage of having Bud. I’m sure his agent knew Bud might develop him.

He hasn't been good so far but he is sooo young. He could turn into something worth having around as early as this upcoming season. Its nice that they signed someone who is closer to his teens than retirement also.

Always reminded me of a poor mans Niko Mirotic. Bad situation in a dysfunctional organization to start his career so far away from home. Giannis, Bud and the international support the Bucks have should help unlock the potential that got him drafted 4th overall. Or thats the silver lining atleast. If he actually does stink at basketball and he belongs overseas, he'll be there soon. Worth a flier imho.

big guys can take a while to develop. only 21. perfect g uy you want to take a flier on as a 15th man. If he can contribute ANYTHING this year it will be a huge plus... if he does show promise, makes it even easier to move a big like ersan at the deadline.
