I totally reject the idea, though, that GS will be as good as they were pre-Durant. That team had an ideal collection of top shelf role players and stars in their prime. I will not write them off because Steph is too good, but it's just not reasonable to expect them to do that.

My best guess is that they are ok with Russell and trade him to Orlando in December.

I think Iguodala declining & now being gone from the team changes things drastically. Even when Klay gets back, they can’t run a smallball death lineup anymore. I’d pencil them in for low 50-wins but that’s it.

I could see Steph going absolutely bananas and them winning high 50s, but it's a STRETCH.

I will say this: they have a lot of interesting young players (Poole, Paschall, Smailagic, Spellman, Evans). They play winning ball. Not a knucklehead in the bunch, the only question is whether any of them will get good enough to win on this level. We're going to find out pretty quickly.

Yeah, not giving the Bucks a home Christmas game vs the sixers with the new arena and last year's best record in the NBA is hella weak.

The Warriors bench has dropped off a cliff compared to what it was in the pre-Durant days. I see them as a 45/50 win team without Klay for most of the season.

That division is insane and I'm not sure a higher usage of Draymond Green is a recipe for success. I expect them to be competitive but I predict they're a bubble playoff team and they dont hit 50 wins. I expect the Russell experiment to work actually but they lost Klay and KD and are only replacing that with Dlo and more Curry and Draymond. Expecting that to be anything like the beginning GSW dynasty is a huge stretch imo.

From Nehm's article on Korver/Matthews filling in for Brogdon.

So Brogdon really didn't even attempt a 3 with someone 4' or closer? Holy ****.

Well he did right, zero attempts at 2' and in. 2 shots at 2-4'. Just didn't make any.

Brogdon didn't take contested shots imo for 3 reasons. He'd pass, he'd drive, he really can't because his release and setup is so dang slow. Now, I think unless you're late on the clock you shouldn't take those guarded shots anyways. Smart BB. Pass the ball or drive. Unless you're Middleton...for some reason I swear he likes someone in his face.

Like someone posted I too think Kover's wide open shots last season were a bit of an anomaly. That dude can shoot and I am on board with letting him shoot away.

Our offense works well getting people open. Guys will get comfortable shooting the ball and within the rhythm of the offense. I am going out on a limb and say those open and wide open numbers all go up.

Outside of defense I really think that these guys definitely fill in well for Brogdon. Plus let's not forget that we got Hill and Lopez with this move overall. I would say that injuries and age could be a concern for us, but damn Brogdon has concerns on that front too.

The most important piece of that graphic is that Wes Matthews was able to get up 230 looks last season without Giannis creating a vacuum in the middle of the floor. He might get up 300 wide open looks from distance this season.

No. The most important was 45% on 230 shot attempts. Volume and efficiency can't beat that. And like you said, that number will likely go up. So may the 45%.

Matthews played 30 minutes a game. He'll play significantly fewer minutes, unless someone is injured. He might get more per 36 minutes though.

Miserable as the Knicks are, being at the Garden on Christmas is still way cooler than being in Philly.

At least the Philly fans might save their batteries for Santa Klaus instead of discharging them at Gianni after a 140-90 victory.

Partnow’s parting gift may have been advising the Bucks to pass on Brogdon.
