"Hey barkeep, I'll take a Cream City Pale Ale."

Image

Went to college in MKE after being raised in a small town near Madison. People definitely referred to it as Cream City, and it definitely confused me at first, but it makes sense.

If you’ve spent any considerable time hanging out around the east side of Milwaukee you’d know cream city. Makes sense that people who didn’t go to school around there or grow up in Milwaukee would be unfamiliar.

And then there are the endless number of businesses and organizations in the area with "Cream City" in their moniker. They don't use it either.

Idk about this particular design, but it feels to me like a blue jersey such as this will be an alternate for us in the future

Born and raised. It's something they might teach you in school. It's not something anyone has ever used. When you fly into Mitchell there's a kiosk pimping Brew City merch, for example.

Would you like to school us on all the times you've heard Cream City used in a sentence? Of all the Bulls fans who have driven up to watch Chicago play the Bucks, has a single flatlander ever uttered: "Driving up to the Cream City there to watch the Bulls Thursday night?"

My parents are from Chicago. Growing up it was pretty common for me to hear a relative say something like "How are things in Cream City?" People refer to Milwaukee as the Cream City all the time.

I don't think it's an argument that Brew City is more commonly used than Cream City, but Cream City sounds fresh and new while Brew City is tired.
Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium

Thank you. That's what I was asking. I never heard it once, but I appreciate that you did.

Uniforms look great on TV. Would be even better if the cream City was outlined in blue.

Always believed Kohl went purple because the Colorado Rockies were absolutely crushing it with that color for uniform sales back then, and he figured he’d make some more cash that way.

Awesome video Dunn, loved it, so great.

I read a published interview with Dunleavy Sr once, he verified that Kohl had seen kids all over town in Hornets gear, asked why it was popular, and was told it was the color scheme. He demanded a purple rebrand, on the basis of that he thought purple was cool.

Was just coming here to say this. Feel like I’d even heard that Dunleavy’s kids had confirmed to Kohl that purple was a happening color (is there no end to the harms visited to this franchise by this family?)

Amazing work, DD.

Are they getting a new earned edition also? There's absolutely no question what it should be:
