2020 NBA Draft Thread

Oh glory be, it's the NBA Draft Thread.

We have the Pacers' pick provided they make the playoffs -- they're currently tied for the 6 seed (would coin flip for 16/17th pick if the season ended to-day).

Draft is looking very good at the top with Wiseman, Ball, Hampton, Edwards, Avidja, Cole Anthony, and NONE of them are at Duke, which should thrill and amaze the losers among you.

My pick for the Bucks is Wisconsin's own (via Iowa State) Tyrese Haliburton. I look forward to falling in love with two dozen players over the next 6 months.

If it's true that this class is loaded with PG's then that makes me wonder if trading the Indy pick is even a good idea...

Love Halliburton’s tools, but he has to make some massive improvements this year to show he’s an nba caliber player. Namely, his complete aversion to even attempting to score. He makes guys like Rondo and Lonzo Ball look like shoot first scoring dynamos. And although his shot goes in at a solid rate, his shooting mechanics are...trash and not the most promising projecting forward. But there is a lot to like and he’s young enough to change parts of his game.

Also not sure why DX is listing Anthony Edwards height as 6’3”. That’s like 2 inches shorter than he’s listed at.

It's not a good idea if we could really get Killian Hayes with that pick - as DX mocked it. But I'd be very surprised if he lasts past the lottery. I think he'll be everything people hoped Dante Exxum would become - if his jump shot continues to improve.

Btw, when Sconsin plays Maryland, watch Stix Smith. He's really gotten stronger in the offseason, and he's a high efficiency big forward with good run/jump athleticism who just needs coaching up. And he's a great kid.

NBADraft.net has finally updated their site... I was one of the few that didn't mind the 2005 look before the update, but the update is solid.

Maxey at 28 and Haliburton at 31. Can we get both?

I don't really know how good they are. After football season I'll get into college BB and learn more about the prospects.

They are rated higher on other mocks, so I like the thought.

This Wiseman/Memphis thing is crazy.

Memphis just giving the NCAA the finger.

Came in here to say Isaiah Joe is the perfect 2 guard prospect for this team. He shoots efficiently from 3 at a high volume already. If we keep the Pacers pick, he's the guy I want the most. He could average 10+ points his rookie season alone on 3 point makes due to the looks he'd receive in Bud's system.

Yeah, Joe is super intriguing. Shot is pure off the catch, nice little stepback game too. Welcome to the board!

Thank you, sir. Joe is also really good in transition. He's literally the perfect fit for us. He really makes me not want to trade that pick.

I only would for the same kinda type that can help us this season, like Bogdan, Simons, etc. I would be thrilled to land Joe if a guy like that is not available on the trade market though, which is probably more likely to be the case.

DX tweet prompted me to watch tons of Yam Madar clips and I am a very big fan. Tough, smart, instinctive, aggressive, highly skilled 18 y.o.

Great year if you need a point. Outside of the obvious guys that will be gone (Anthony, Hampton, Maledon, Ball) there’s a lot to love in guys like Haliburton, Hayes, Mannion, Jones,

From the arguably little I've seen I'm very low on Hampton. Mind you that is exclusive based on HS tape.

A player I'd follow as a possible target for the Bucks is Amar Sylla - from Senegal and I believe playing in Belgium this season. Just turned 18 and a long skinny 6'10 now - we'll have to see how much weight his frame can hold. He's a tremendous defender - excellent lateral quickness for a 6'10 guy. He played on Euro champion under 18 Real Madrid team but was overshadowed by Usman Garuba - who's thicker at 6'9 and could be a top 3 pick in the 2021 draft. Sylla had to move to PF, and that might help force him to develop more skills.
