Makes a lot of sense that we'd show interest in him. I'd rather have Terry but I'd be very happy to have Bane fall to us. I don't think his ceiling is all that high but he should pretty safely be a positive contributor. I think he'll have an adjustment period to NBA athleticism but he should be able to help a team pretty early IMO.

Amen on Bane. This is a draft with lots of great shooters, and he might be the best of them. And he's not 1 dimensional. His strength/power and skills will allow him to score in other ways, and he plays smart defense - though he'll probably have issues 1 on 1 with quicker guards.

He gives off early-career Eric Gordon to me. They're built similar physically, can both shoot, can both be secondary ballhandlers (maybe even run some PnR) and can defend multiple positions given their build. I'd be totally down for Bane.

Eric Gordon was much quicker. I would say Bane is more like Gordon after injuries and age slowed him down dramatically, but before he completely fell off a cliff this year.

I think Bane's more comparable to a more skilled version of Jae Crowder.

Why do you have Terry at 24 if you think he's the best player in the class? Or is this a mock draft?

No Oturu in the mock. Lots of questions on him, but he is a very talented player, imo who put up very good numbers - 2nd in the Big 10 in scoring, 1st in both rebounding and blocked shots, has shown some potential as a 3 point shootist. If he's still there around the 40th pick, buy a pick and take him.

Flynn can play but I'd look to trade the pick before I'd take him in the first.

It's not a bad draw to me at all if we get to pick between Woodard and Maledon. Still big on Yam as well.

Here's 8:30 of Yam ripping up a team with multiple NBA types. Still 19 and rapidly improving.

Yam Madar. Really fun player to Watch. His pace is Lonzo like and he has elite skills on his off hand.
The thing that I loved the most about him was something I did when I was playing ...
I was really good stealing the ball and punish loose handle players, really exposing them by picking their pocket.
He does that so often, its in his game. The secret is timing the ball on opponents dribble,
after studying your opponent on the fly, you calculate where the ball will be and at what time.
That's a high IQ player , a Hard worker. I checked his stats , it looks he is a really bad 3pt shooter.
That puts him somewhere like Beverley type of player. If he improves his shooting and gets stronger he could become a PG starter

why would the best shooter fall that far in an era that is so heavily focused on shooting?

How often is a Senior drafted in the lottery? Hardly ever, because teams always look for upside in the top half of the draft. It’s all about potential rather than known talent.

gotcha, that makes sense then. although teams that are already contenders would be less likely to go for upside and more likely to look for a specialist (like us) especially when the chances of that upside coming to fruition begins to wane as the draft goes on. in short, it really sucks that our pick fell so far because now we have teams like Miami in front of us who could definitely poach a guy like that.

Imo workouts this year will be key. There's a huge downtime from the last competitive games to NBA restart and if that time was spent well, some especially younger prospects will gain a lot. Not sold on what I saw from Yam but he like many others could benefit from the downtime.
