I like how Sony is handling this. IMO all retailers should handle releases of hot products like this. It's like using TicketMaster or something when you want to see a show. Once you're in, you have a timer of a few minutes to complete the order or you're bounced out.

Sony direct says they're sold out and to check back tomorrow, but also just updated my wait time to 22 minutes...I will be staying in-queue for 22 minutes, lol.

I just waited out the queue, only for the page I was brought to said it was out of stock and to come back tomorrow.

Got the PS5 set up, downloading Miles Morales & Valhalla (said I was going to wait but who am I kidding). The system is as big as I expected it to be but I think it's lighter than my Xbox One X. It looks pretty cool when it's vertical and the light from the system is reflecting off of both fins.

I left 2 devices with the PS5 in my cart (after I knew they were sold out) on Walmart site, ready to hit checkout at 8. Wonder if that will work.

Tried it, didn't help me, but good luck. Warning that when you do it this way, if you fail, they will move to your Saved Items list, which is worse than just going through the product page (more clicks). So I hope it works for you!

The entire launch process for Xbox, PS5 and NVIDIA RTX 3000 series has been a joke. Shoe launches do lottery systems and it works great.

You'd think with how well Apple has done with their new phone launches in recent years, that other companies would be better about launches. Then again, consoles only come out every 7 or so years, so I get from a marketing standpoint it creates hype and supply/demand. I wish there was a better way to combat against bots as well.

You would think there would be more thought in how to safeguard against botting the majority of these consoles. Like mentioned before, sneaker industry has been dealing with it for awhile and has came up with ways to slow bots down considerably. It's frustrating.
