Bravely Default 2 is happening! Switch has become the JRPG machine.

If you liked the general idea of Octopath Traveller, but hated that it was fragmented across so many characters' individual storylines - look up Bravely Default. And hopefully check out an incredible sequel in Bravely Default 2.

Specs?!

I haven't built or upgraded my rig in about 3 years now and I'm itching to do it.

Asus Prime X570-P Ryzen 3 AM4 with PCIe Gen4
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO Tower CPU Air Cooler
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 1660 TI
HP EX920 M.2 1TB SSD PCIe 3.0 SSD
NZXT H510 - Compact ATX Mid-Tower PC Gaming Case
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
EVGA 650 GQ 210-GQ-0650-V1 80+ GOLD 650W Modular EVGA ECO Mode Power Supply

My budget was about $800, without needing storage HD, OS, monitors, etc. I used https://www.logicalincrements.com/ as a guide for what I was looking for.

Mine old box is pushing 4 years old, and it will be retired and become a full-time Plex server.

I've never played either, but isn't there already a sequel to Bravely Default? Bravely Second?

Yep. I didn't play it; heard it was good-not-great, but can't confirm. That was a direct sequel to the first; this is going to be the second game in the same style - think FF or DQ. Completely different characters, story, world.

That's a killer PC for that budget. Going to be awesome and love the Plex idea, I'll probably do the same. I've never heard of logicalincrements.com but I'll look into it. In the past I've always used pcpartspicker.com

I used logical increments for the basis of what my system specs would be then used parts picker to pick the actual pieces :)

I don't know how anyone can play the new league on hardcore. I have - literally - never died so much. The metamorph bosses are ridiculous.

First time playing PoE on PC. You guys have any suggestions for key bindings? Where do you bind your spells/attacks? Flasks?

Differs depending upon my build and what I'm playing on. I bind as much to W-A-S-D, 1-2-3-4, Space, and Z-X-C-V as possible depending upon those factors. I put flares and dynamyte on the side-buttons of my mouse, too. I delve a lot so I don't move those controls because remapping that muscle memory is hard (I tried once).

If I'm playing a build that needs to flask piano I try to do 1-2-3-4-Space, or Z-X-C-V-Space on my laptop. A-W-D is more natural to press, but S is hard to get to on a piano.

Haha, so I am guessing piano is what got you. It's what they call the 1-5 flask activation over on Reddit, which is the largest PoE community. I actually joined Reddit because of PoE.

I think I mistook your post. I thought you were saying it was your first time playing poe on PC; were you saying it's your first time playing poe and you're on pc?

If the latter, I wasn't intending to speak over your head!

The game changes in a big way when you get to end game or close to it. Piano flasks will make more sense then :D Tabula is a great drop to get. It will definitely take you to end game, and it can take you well into it even. Six links is way more powerful than basic stats and a 4 or 5 link.

Ok, here's a good example of keybindings and what I mean with it being different per build.

I'm playing storm burst, which is also using orb of storms and my movement skill is shield charge. I have flame dash for when I need to hop gaps/walls. That's a fair number of skills; 2 needed in battle, one needed for easy access, and one within reach.

My build also requires a flask piano. I'm currently using 2 life flasks (league is hard), a diamond flask for crit, and Atziri's Promise for damage and life leech. This is 4, and I have room to grow into 5.

Right-click: Storm Burst
Shift: Life 1
A: Life 2 (instant)
W: Diamond
D: Atziri's
F: Orb of Storms
Space: Shield Chargee
Q: Flame Dash

I also use middle-click (scroll wheel) and R and T for vaal skills and auras.

Hope that helps.

Might just have to let PoE go, it's too complex to try and pickup while playing other games. I'm following a build guide but I feel like I'm mashing keys without knowing what I'm doing.

Death Stranding worth $40? Or do people see this dropping even more in the coming months?

Could see it at $30 by February and a "Playstation Hits - $20" by next May, if you're a #PatientGamer
