Roster as constructed is likely the odds on favorite to win it all. Based on talent, scheme, coaching, depth and CHEMISTRY.

The depth you trade are also important role guys that allow Giannis to get plenty of rest during the regular season.

I’m good with Wilson for Valentine.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

To be fair, we were in a not dissimilar position last year, and then we traded Thon.

He ended up asking out publicly. But we don't know how long that was going on behind the scenes.

Certainly possible Brown and / or DJ could similarly prefer more shots and minutes to earn their next contract over a deep bench role on a contender this year.

And in terms of our depth, we don't know whether Bud trusts that he can rely on those two, or if he'd be just as satisfied picking someone else up on the waiver wire if not via trade.

That's an insult to Cousins.

Yeah I like that proposal. At worst we're getting to clear salary and at best we get a valuable contributer with RFA rights.

Can someone get me up to speed with valentine? Knew he was out last year but wasn’t he a decent player before that? Could he realistically be had for Wilson?

Yes please

What do either of you like about Bogdan that you don't like about Denzel Valentine? Also, do you think Buds will be excited to down grade the defense?

Wilson/Brown/Indy 2nds for Valentine/Arcidiacono

Don't think it would take anything more than Wilson for Valentine. He's out of favor with the Bulls.

How much more would be needed for Arci? Brown/2nds too heavy? I like him as guard depth (and heavy PG minutes down the stretch to rest Bled/Hill for the playoffs) to expand the deal from just a DJ/Denzel swap.

You want to trade for a guy who can’t even get playing time on the bulls...isn’t valentine the guy who got embarrassed in the drew league a couple of years ago?

And yes, that was him.

Low risk dart throw, but I do like his skill-set and think he's been criminally underutilized by Numbnuts McGee, aka Jim Boylen. Good shot creator, good 3 point shooter, limited but very willing defender, good instincts. Free throws, injuries and lack of athleticism are the main knocks I have.

How about Brown and DJ for Ntilikina gives the Nicks 2 young guys to look at and gives us another long defensive guard and frees up a roster spot for a buy out

You don't have to convince me on Frank but I doubt the Knicks touch this.

I do like Abracadabra. Not sure he's actually worth something. Regarding Valentine it's pretty obvious the Bulls will move him as you can read up here:

https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bulls/its-time-bulls-free-healthy-eager-denzel-valentine

They'll probably evaluate the market and trade him at the deadline. Wether they value DJ or not is hard to say but I doubt Valentine as a soon to be RFA has any value anyway.

Valentine sucked as an older rookie. He's now 26 and hasn't exactly gotten any better. No thanks.

It's the Knicks. They've been making dumb moves for decades.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I've always been a Valentine fan. He's got size, passing ability and a nice shot (37.4% career from 3). He's not overly athletic, but with Patty and Sterling (maybe Wes?) likely moving on next season, it'd be nice to have someone in the fold to potentially fill some wing minutes.

I don't know much about Valentine but I wouldn't put it past the Bulls' braintrust to screw up his development so far.

But Valentine’s benching remains one of the more mysterious developments of this season. He’s fully healthy, saying recently that his surgically repaired ankle feels great.

When first questioned about Valentine not being in the rotation back on Nov. 11, coach Jim Boylen grew uncharacteristically evasive. Here’s the exchange:

Reporter: Why is [Valentine] out of the rotation?

Boylen: Because I said so.

Reporter: Is there something specific that he needs to improve?

Boylen: I think he needs some seasoning and he needs to play and he needs to grow.

Reporter: Grow in which areas?

Boylen: All areas.

Reporter: Why didn’t you play him at end of the [blowout] Rockets game?

Boylen: Because I didn’t want to.
