Why limit it at one transfer? I think that makes little sense.

I try not to be too "old school" and I support the majority of endeavors that allow students/players more freedom, compensation, etc. but I do try to look at the sport or non-revenue sports getting ruined/destroyed.
I guess the concern would be guys doing one year everywhere. I'm not insanely sympathetic to coaches but I don't know if it would be easy for coaches/programs or fans if half of their team are coming and going literally every year.
On the other hand, I do think/hope it would be somewhat unlikely for guys to be moving to 4 different colleges on average or something. Plus, if you want to transfer a second time, you still can take a year off or I guess maybe the waiver system will still be out there?

Yea the one time no questions asked transfer seems like a good compromise to me. Maybe could add something in about if there is a coaching change it doesn't count, or you get another one if a coaching changes happens. Something of that nature.

Strikes me you either have free movement or you don’t.
I understand this is a compromise, but it just doesn’t make logical sense to me.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread/March Madness
I think this is my expectation for the next few years:
'21-'22: Get another transfer big, goal is simply to be a tournament team.
'22'-'24 or '25: An elite team should materialize in here.
If line item #2 doesn't happen, I'm fine moving on given that we've got a competent coach but cannot get us a top 10 sort of team at any point, even if we're knocking on the door every year.
I'm thinking we should have a team of that caliber given the talent we have if it all sticks together and maybe some added transfers.

Huh. Was expecting a frontliner.
As for Davison, I see the import of him coming back and the team is better with him, but I am sick of him.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread/March Madness
I think they'll get a pretty good big man and call it a day.
I guess the likely answer for Neath is he takes the Anderson role while Bowman/Hepburn get their feet wet with a lot of minutes themselves. Looks like he has some potential so maybe he blossoms into something more than that. Not bad to fill out some backcourt depth for now, especially if one of the young guys is a bust or struggles early.

That's where I am too. It's probably good for the team, but I was just very ready for someone new to take those minutes.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread/March Madness
There's so many minutes for new guys I don't think Davison getting some will be so bad. I am pretty close to your guys' line of thinking but we might as well try to make the tournament this year and there will still be ~50 minutes in the backcourt to hand over to Neath/Bowman/Hepburn at the 1 and 2. I feel like Davis will be the 3rd guard (by that I mean the starting 3 man) for the most part. Wahl starts at the 4 but plays some 3 when Davis needs a rest/we want to go big. Carlson/Crowl/transfer or maybe Mors fill out the rest of the 4/5 minutes.
Hepburn 20/Neath 15/Bowman 5
Davison 30/Bowman 10
Davis 30/Wahl 10
Wahl 20/Carlson 20
Crowl 20/Transfer and/or Mors 20
Hepburn 20/Neath 15/Bowman 5
Davison 30/Bowman 10
Davis 30/Wahl 10
Wahl 20/Carlson 20
Crowl 20/Transfer and/or Mors 20

I totally get your point and I'm on the players side. They've been stuck with the short end of the stick while coaches and universities have made fortunes off their efforts.
However, for the integrity of the game and continuity, there do need to be some restrictions on player movement with immediate eligibility. If not, we could have midseason transfers in basketball (between semesters) and football players could report to camp in August then transfer before the fall semester in September when the season starts.
I do think it should be more than just one open transfer for a potential five season college career. I think something like a player earns a 2nd open transfer after earning an AA degree or accumulating 64-credits. And keep the current grad-transfer rule in place which would give a player a potential 3rd open transfer.

I haven't followed this even a little bit aside from knowing it's a possibility, but it's kind of insane that a top-5 prospect might end up playing at UWM. If he's even a little legit he could put up bananas numbers in the Horizon league, lol.

His recruiting is hilarious. It's Duke or UWM.

Badgers picked up a trasfer guard from Wake Forest.
I know we need veteran depth, but hopefully someone beats him out for minutes, cause he wasn’t good on a bad wake team.

I didn't watch but seeing updates as I scrolled twitter that had to be one heck of a volleyball game. Have to say I was expecting an L as I was scrolling. I went to a HS one last week that was a 5 setter tied 9-9 in the 5th that was a crazy good game. My school lost though in that one.
