I love PG13 and think come playoffs he'll step it up but the fact that every talking head instantly rates him so much highly over Middleton this year is an indictment on sports journalism

These "journalists" don't have time to watch every game. They watch the team they supported on their way up (usually a big market team). They base everything else on reputation. Most of them have seen one full Midds game all season and it was the Sixers Xmas Day Championship Cornation.

It becomes especially glaring when we see something develop on a game by game basis that is different than the overall reputation. For example, Midds gets in the best shape of his life, takes his game to a new level, is probably at his absolute peak, and Bud tailors his offense more to fit Midds' strengths. Guys only watching the Lakers and Clippers have no idea this has happened. All they know is PG was once great and theoretically should be a great fit with Kawhi (if you just ignore that he has struggled to stay healthy for the last half decade). Thus, in their mind PG >>> Midds. When in reality this season Midds >>> PG.

The same thing is going on with a lot of factors about this team. Giannis is on another level and his midrange and outside shot improvement has made him unstoppable. Bud's offense has added tons of diversity. It's no longer Giannis ISO at the top of the key and drive into the wall. Brook is the best rim protector in a league with very few rim protectors. DDV is the most impactful player on any bench in the entire league. Marvin, Wes, Korver, and Hill have waayyy more left in the tank than they get credit for. Robin is the best bench big in the league. He should be starting somewhere. Bled is the best on ball defensive PG in the league and was just first team all NBA defense and is a great penetrator/finisher and has improved his three point shot, yet he is viewed as some sort of massive liability based on two playoff series. The defense just does not allow shots at the rim. People not watching regularly won't understand how impossible it is to get to the rim.

Missed the last 5 minutes of the game and the post-game show as I had to duck out. Sounds like I don't need to go back and watch the recording then?

2:30 left in the half and the lead was almost nothing, and then in the next 2 minutes the team pretty much ended their night... Just went off lead by Giannis and that was it.

They something similar to Toronto. It was 39 to 51 with 2 minutes left.

2 minutes later the lead is gone it was like 50 to 52 at the half.

This team can run teams over quickly. They play fast and tight D and can run people over in 2 minutes or even make a deficit disappear.

And they hardly let off the gas after that. It was 46-43 and then it was 130-79. That's a 84-36 run against a 37-22 team.

I've never had something so in common with a professional athlete until tonight.

Since I met him and got a picture we're basically best friends so as you can imagine we have tons in common.

Tatum, Brown, Kemba and Theis. Theis is a lockdown defender. Giannis has no chance against him.

Impossible. The Celtics have so much depth and homecourt advantage. Horford is going to kill us.

And swagger

It needs a big silhouette of Giannis screaming down the left-hand side, and a smaller silhouette of Harden flopping on the right-hand side.

^^^nah don't think about it that way. It was pretty funny, and anyone who can read knows we/Giannis dominated so it tells its own story.

Meanwhile it literally didn't matter what he did or didn't do in that play, Giannis is taking those shots regardless, CP is midget enough for Giannis to ignore him anyway, and they lost by 50.

But sure.

This Marvin/Giannis thing is a beautiful modern day Horry/Duncan. Giannis at the 5 is the best
