Also, I'm way late to the party on Yellowstone. Show is unreal! Almost done with season 2 and holy buckets does it get crazy.
I enjoy Yellowstone, fun show.

My wife and I watched the first episode of "Warrior" last night...and I really want an excuse to keep watching it, but the writing and directing were just so **** terrible. The premise is great, the production seems solid, the action sequences were good, and the cast seems game (for the most part). We both really enjoy martial arts films, and I'm totally willing to roll with corny scripts in that space, but the writing was so bad. The directing, while maybe not quite as awful, was often ham-fisted and clumsy, and I'm pretty off how they're playing the spoken Cantonese. Does it get better? Is there at least something I can hang onto that will get me through, like even better/more frequent action?
It gets a little better in that regard but that will always be its achilles heel. If you like the genre I feel like you have looked past far worse.Siefer wrote:Okay, I need some guidance. Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?
Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

I thought it was great. The 6 episode arc was strange. They could have fleshed out a few more things or left some out entirely to be sure. But I thought that had more to do with some dumb contractual issue. If you were expecting more out of this series than you got you had much higher expectations than me. I never even got through Wandavision.glenn wrote:Conflicted on Falcon and Winter Soldier. Thought the actors did great and there were some really solid parts, but the writing was all over the damn place. They really couldn’t settle on a coherent theme, which is a shame because there were some things touched on that could have really hit hard if done well.

Black Sails was great. Warrior is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I dont consider them on the same plane. Maybe more like Banshee, another forum fav. A few decent actors, a lot of good action and a bit over the too.Lippo wrote:Siefer wrote:Okay, I need some guidance. Yep, gets better and better, like Black Sails

Granted, I was watching while taking care of kids and everything, but I didn't understand what was going on at all. The Palm faced supersoldiers were fighting for what? The politicians were trying to displace people who took the homes of the blipped back people who are now ostensibly homeless? And this is really loathsome? Who the hell was Elaine? Who was Peggy's niece?
I understood literally none of it, which is a shame I think because Mackie, and especially Stan were great and the transition to a Black Captain America could have been really powerful.
