Nice Xmas brunch followed by a great Bucks win and still 3 NBA games to go (and an NFL game). Great day.

What was the tastiest thing at the brunch (apart from yourself)?

French toast. Delicious.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

3 things:

1. Bottled water tastes worse than tap water. Especially the cheaper brands.

2. They say the next world war won't be over oil, it will be over water.

3. At some point it's going to be profitable to extract salt from ocean water and use that as drinking water. Only a matter of time.

Also, rain water harvesting is pretty interesting.

Best takeout I can eat over the next two days in Milwaukee?

Ready, go!

Two of the best restaurants in the city offer takeout now.

Highly dependent on your definition of Best Takeout

High end restaurants or Milwaukee only available foods?

I liked Frank Madden's double whammy of Rocky Rococo & Kopps stops

I'd also throw out there:
Solly's
Benji's Deli
Packing House fish fry
Iron Grate BBQ
Zaffiro's pizza
Gold Rush Chicken

If I had only a couple days in Milwaukee, that would be my list to get as much as possible from

Trying something new sort of thing, best suggestion if you haven't been is Uncle Wolfie's in Brewers Hill, mostly a brunch type place, but has a solid but limited dinner menu as well.

Madison has plenty of great restaurants, but Milwaukee is a tier above for a pizza, sandwich, and burger boy. I miss it so much.

Anyone know anything about cars? Or painting cars? I want to get the trim on my truck painted black (I know, how cliche. I just don't like chrome that much.) but wanted to know how much it might cost.

Some good ideas. I generally cook during the week and do takeout on weekends but with back to back Bucks games and crappy weather coming I think pizza is on the agenda tonight with the leftovers tomorrow night.

You could always try the plastidip stuff first. It would be a cheap experiment you can do yourself and you'd get to see what it'd look like painted. Easily removed if you hate it or screw it up

I finally caved a month or so ago and signed-up for NYT Cooking, and holy **** I love it. It is so convenient to have thousands of high-quality recipes at your fingertips without having to look through every Karen and Carol's blog.

Not sure why but I've been getting 5 weekly recipes from the NYT Cooking folks for a while now. Some great recipes.
