These, man. You should Etsy and sell these. I would buy some.

Τοο much work Mike, you can't sell them high enough to make it worth it. Just to get all those mixed materials to stick properly is a bit of a process, can't just dunk them in epoxy and hope for the best. And then turning brass and aluminium on the lathe is hard on the tools, needs constant sharpening. And then buffing and polishing...

When you have a hobby that you love and a job you don't love, everybody tells you to start turning your hobby into your job. It makes sense, right?

In reality what often happens when you try to do that is that you end up with two jobs you don't love. That's the risk.
Handmade items rarely pay enough to quit your morning job, and then on top of that you have to deal with boring crap like worrying what sells, how to sell it and what people expect. IDGAF what people expect, that's their problem LOL

Plus realistically it's not easy, I just don't produce enough volume in my tiny shed, I'd have to scale up considerably.

I make gifts. It makes me happy and (usually) it makes loved ones happy.

Also, don't forget hot pads beneath your water vessel. Sous Vide has been known to break counter tops

Drove from MKE to eastern Ohio for a work trip the last two days. Should've rented a car I put over 1,000 miles on my car which I was fine with because of the $0.575 per mile reimbursement. That decision blew up literally in my face when I was on I-90 E outside Gary, IN and some **** with IL plates passed me on the shoulder as the shoulder was ending and threw a rock on my windshield. The interstate wasn't busy and the left lane was open, so the guy had to be all sorts of screwed up. He then went over 100mph to get away after cutting me off and chipping my windshield.

I had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago that required me to replace the whole windshield - which cost me a $250 deductible. When they replaced it, I remember how weird it was for a few days to drive with a brand new windshield - it was so clear that it was barely perceptible to me when I was driving.

My wife had to get two new windshields on her last car because the 1st replacement had a weird distortion that I guess is common in replacements.

The first windshield replacement on my truck whistled like an SOB. Fortunately, #2 is fine.
