Well it’s promising that they recognize the need for shooting and especially off the dribble shot creation. Bledsoe’s gone, just interested to see what direction they go in. Could go for younger guys maybe slightly under appreciated on their current team (Lavine, Dinwiddie), or the Conley/CP3 route. Highly doubt they can pull off a trade for a star in his prime but we’ll see.

I'm sure it's common with virtually every franchise that the owner/GM/coach meet after the season. In all sports.

Some more details on the Lasry-Giannis meeting. I'll update with notes after I finish reading

    - Says Lasry always meet with Horst and Bud in Milwaukee after the season and always asks Giannis if he wants to meet up while he's in town.
    - Meeting was at Giannis' home and included Alex Lasry, Thanasis, and Alex Saratsis in addition to the already known Giannis and Marc Lasry.
    - Can't talk contract yet but all parties left the meeting "in good spirits with a sense of synergy"
    - Both sides have a "high level of trust" in each other's word
    - If Giannis says he'll sign the supermax, they'll celebrate. If he says he wants to hit free agency and has no idea if he'd come back or not, they'll have to consider trading him. If he says he wants to hit free agency but Milwaukee is the leader in the clubhouse, they won't trade him.
    - "A source with knowledge of the Bucks' perspective" says they've had confidence for a long time now that Giannis will sign the supermax
    - Sources say the Bucks were far more concerned with the players' shooting than they are with the wall defense itself, both in terms of percentage as well as hesitancy to shoot after "letting it fly" all season.
    - Specifically singles out Bledsoe as part of the problem due to his inability to create off the dribble and inability to hit shots
    - "Sources with knowledge of ownerships' thinking" say it's highly unlikely that the Bucks will pursue Chris Paul due to both his contract as well as viewing his personality as a mismatch with Giannis' alpha dog personality. "All indications are the Bucks will look elsewhere".
    - "Budenholzer is safe, but the questions surrounding his team’s postseason collapse will remain at the forefront."
    - Sources say Bud has finally realized that he needs to play guys like Giannis heavier minutes and says the plan in Game 4 (and moving forwards) before Giannis' re-injury was to play him a ton.

Couple extremely facepalmy takeaways...

*Took Bud until Game 4 (down 3-0) to realize he has to play the MVP of the league more minutes in the playoffs while the best players on other teams were logging as many as 10 or more minutes a night? Yeeeeeesssh.

*Yeah, the supporting cast missing shots was troubling, but nowhere near as troubling as the refusal to try something other than "let it fly" when it was obvious the offense was stagnant and out of sync (starting with game 1 of the Orlando series).

*Great news on all Giannis fronts. Which outweighs all the negatives. But I'd have to imagine, and hope, that if the Bucks bow out similarly next season Bud will be gone.

Based on the phrasing around keeping Bud in a few different articles now, it seems like this upcoming season is definitely his last shot to show he can do it.

Yes, but up until this past season, Lasry wasn't the "guy" in control, it was Edens. Definitely seems like a Lasry leak to make himself seem more important to the process than he actually is, so I take everything in here with the grainiest of salts re: Giannis.

I'd love if someone asked Bud what the point of not playing Giannis big minutes is . when you basically have him on minutes restriction for the entire year. Idk how he would answer that and not come off looking either incredibly stubborn or incredibly dumb.

The Paul stuff in the article certainly seems like posturing and the right thing to say right now. Everything about Giannis sounds very promising and that is all that really matters right now.

But he had the experience and the size and some skills we needed against Miami. People can't say that he wouldn't help us win the Miami Series with him. Its like covering a crime.

In Milwaukee with Giannis and the Lakers with Lebron, there really isn't a traditional PG role being played. Offensively, Brogdon played his role really well. Defensively, he was out of position when asked to guard smaller quicker point guards.

I don't think there's any question he would have helped against Miami. However, he's also not covering up for the weaknesses of Bucks scheme being exposed in the playoffs.

The Lasrys have already had their names in the media like nine times and we’re a week into the Bucks offseason.

He did answer it and did come off stubborn/stupid lol. Basically said given how hard these guys play and that it’s playoff intensity, 35-36 min is pushing the ceiling.

Meanwhile the Celts/Raps played seemingly 4/5 of their starting lineup 40+, Tatum is literally averaging 40mpg for the postseason (42mpg the last two series). And our only win against Miami came with Khris playing 43 in regulation.

Yeah. Though even the Giannis stuff; this article is clearly IMO coming from Lasry's perspective. Hopefully Giannis and Lasry are really on the same page as he says.

I'm by no means a Zach LaVine fan, but him on this team from an offensively perspective is actually pretty interesting.

Meh, if critiquing his game makes someone a "hater," then so be it.

Also, #ThroughTheWall is a terrible slogan seeing as that's what he currently tries to do and it doesn't really work.

Would not be mad at a Schroder pickup. Also feel like Bogdan is one of the guys they probably talked about during the meeting

I’m sure they had their moments but Schroder had glowing things to say about Bud once he saw how Westbrook/Donovan ran the show in OKC.

Found one instance, looking for the one I remember.
