Those catch and shoot numbers are certainly eye-popping. The more I see the more I'm surprised at how far he fell in the draft.

He looks like he can shoot the 3 well on the move too. I don't think he's going to offer really anything on offense outside of his 3 point shooting (touch doesn't appear very good, poor dribbler/creator), but he's got some pretty impressive range and can hit the 3 both catch and shoot, on the move, or with a few moves to create space.

Re: #45 - Jordan Nwora (Forward, Louisville)
What's the opinion on his shot release?
Looks like a really low release point from his chest almost
He's 6'7, but it also reminded me a bit of Brogdon's, but quicker.

It's low but it doesn't make me have a near heart attack that it won't clear the rim.

He loads it a little in front of his face like Brogdon does. I think that's where the comparison ends. Primarily a hop shooter so that's where the shot's power is coming from whereas Brogdon pushes it.
FWIW Brogdon's upper body looks much smoother when he shoots off the hop, too, he just seems more comfortable with the 1-2.

I think playing with team USA and being surrounded by dudes thst give a **** probably had more to do with it....that and being passed up for minutes by everyone else on that team. Hopefully it sticks with him.M-C-G wrote:crkone wrote:Middleton with that work ethic. These youngins could really learn a thing or two from him.
Honestly, that dude flipped a switch. I never thought it would be after the big contract, but part of me thinks having a kid really changed his dedication.
only a fan, only an opinion

Middleton was never the most gifted athlete, has gone from being picked in the middle 2nd round, and turned himself into an All-NBA caliber two-way wing. He's never lacked work ethic.

Love this time of the year, when all our 2nd rounders are the next Ginobili/Draymond/Millsap

I'm kinda excited they are a couple injuries away from having to play major minutes.

I think Nwora can give us some solid minutes this year. He's going to have such a limited role compared to Louisville; just catch and shoot when you're open and simplify/limit the decision making process.

Still, he's long enough and strong enough to finish on occasional cuts to the hoop - so he can change things up on occasion to keep defenses on guard.

Dreams are all we have, save for those of us fortunate enough to have IFC and access to "Three's Company" re-broadcasts.

Well that's the thing, that one Louisville game I watched against Duke? he actually finished with 6 or 8 points. Duke put their best defenders on him and he was happy to just pass the ball or draw defenders and let his teammates take advantage of the space this created for them. He forced maybe 2 shots, at most. Other than that he just stayed in the game and played the garbage man, boxing out, screens, he was going for every offensive rebound, first to sprint back etc. By the way, someone has showed him where to be on D. He's no Kawhi or anything like that, but he does have a big and strong body, he fills a fair bit of space and is always aware of what's going on behind him.
And when he does shoot it, it's a low release but he gets it off super fast so that's not a problem. Only problem is he doesn't turn and set his feet as fast as say Duncan Robinson, he's more of a spot up - shoot over you rather than a curl-around-screens or dribble hand off and let it fly kind of guy. They might try to get him to work on this, get some Korver into him.
Overall I think Bud will love him, I expect to see him get minutes from Day 1.
