I need to decide what job title would be the best choice, going forward.
Field Marketing Manager
Or
Outside Marketing Manager
The company is one of the largest and most well-regarded home improvement companies in Wisconsin. The main focus of the department is marketing at public events (tradeshows, fairs, festivals, Farmers Markets, etc.), and in the past has had the department head hold the title of Events Marketing Manager, or On-Location Marketing Manager.
The main focus will remain events, but now there will be a Canvassing Department (scheduling free inspections in the immediate areas surrounding installs the company is doing) with a staff and manager that both report to the head of this department.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Either one works. It looks like the position and hierarchy is clearly defined which is what matters. Don't get wrapped up in inconsequential gift wrapping. In case of a tie, go with the title that has the lesser number of syllables.

I briefly had the title of Chief Economist. Granted it was a title that nobody agreed I could have but I managed to keep it for nearly a year regardless.

Outside sales is of course the standard term for someone who sells in person, away from the office. I kind of like "outside marketing" as an analogue to that. Field marketing sounds military or academic to me.

How you going to just leave the "Grand" out of this one?!? Which, btw, Grand Admiral Marketing Manager is an excellent title.
But the world may not be ready for that so I cast my vote for "Field." I agree it's more academic, and to me that means more direct, which I like.

Director works much better than manager in a title.
