i mean it's good that your ownership is willing to pay big money. but this will require some really smart gm'ing to build with this. think nets - once they got durant + kyrie, they went all in and spared no expense. once you get to that point, you will need to keep spending big $$$'s to try and get a chip. any type of cutting corners and it can cost you a season.

I love how people complain about Jrue getting a max, but there’s Wall and Westbrook making over 40, and a whole bunch of guys like Steven Adams and Wiggins at about 30.

i think paying your best players to stay is usually the right move. folks shouldn't hate this deal. i think what happens now is more important. how does the gm and ownership improve this team? are they willing to be repeater tax offenders? are they willing to spend more to make sure you get the chip? that's TBD at this point.

I hope Bud uses him more like last night. Giannis does not need to do everything.

At one time, it might have been frightening to give a player his age an extension this long. Now, with Suki and staff, I have zero concerns.

I look forward to Jrue and Giannis carving out their piece of NBA history as a dynamic, championship duo.

Great news! 4/160ish money was Jrue's max in the open market. That said it looks like he made a discount to stay in Milwaukee since he could definitely push Bucks offer him more $$$ after what they gave up to get him. I'm waiting for the details here. There were reports that Bucks can offer him up to 4y/135mil extension. I guess this is what he gets with 5-6 mil p/y in bonuses.

Yes. This is important. You don't pay a point guard $40 million and not have him run the offense.
