So little that all of them that didn't have a pro career to move on to in the easiest year to transfer in NCAA history came back.

We'll always wonder what could've been if he was more caring towards *checks notes* Walt McGrory.

You mean one out of seven?

Ford, Potter, Reuvers, Trice all went pro. They all could've transferred if they were dying to play more basketball for free. Reuvers kept the door open for any opportunity and decided going pro was better.

Those guys are all decent/great college players to some degree but obviously are 2nd/3rd tier pros. Some of the better programs in the country with coaches that love to hug their players on camera would have taken them in a heartbeat - and they went pro.

Davison returned.

The other two guys were bench fodder that transferred to play more minutes at a lower level. Maybe they didn't like Gard...who cares.

Are we really surprised? You could see something wrong all year. Gard himself comes off kind of meh. I wouldn't want to play for him.

Recruiting seems to have been bad recently too. Probably going to lose another top 100 instate recruit. Oh wow didnt land a single of the top players in state from this year.

Maybe he did a poor job connecting with this group and did a poor job in that sense so they don't think he cared. But that doesn't mean he didn't. I mean, it's just tough to take all this as gospel when past players from the last 20 years have said literally the exact opposite in regards to Bo/Gard. Maybe he's cracking under the pressure of the head job, idk. But the 'caring for players as people and their lives in general, not just bball' has basically been one of the thing praised on this program since Gard has been a part of it. Until now.

Also, if alando was angling for his job and wanted him out that's a cancer to the locker room and whatever he's putting in these kids heads to create a rift. Not really Gard's fault if someone is poisoning the well so to speak.

Davis is a stud (in-state), Carlson is good, Hepburn is going to be a stud.

In-state recruiting means almost nothing in college hoops. This group has talent and at the very worst will be a tournament team over the next few years. If that's all they are, then he's gone. But they have a much higher ceiling IMO. They've got some talent.

2021 and 2022 are great UW classes in terms of who they targeted and who they successfully got to sign. If these classes don't perform or there's a significant exodus, sure, go ahead and roast Gard for that. This release of the recording right on the heels of the first on-campus recruiting weekend is a disgruntled ex-employee lighting a fire before he exits stage left.

Let's review the scholly seniors:
Trice: 5 year player, who played a post-grad year
Ford: 5 year player
Potter: 5 year player
Anderson: 5 year player, would clearly be behind Bowman, Hepburn and Davison

These are all old seniors who have been in college a looooong time. Probably antsy to start next stage of life. Anderson currently shopping for life alert bracelets, drink specials at Valpo.

Davison: 4 year player who has made no secret of wanting to go into coaching.

I don't see the red alarms, guys.

Were there any rumors as to why Alando was canned?

I don't think he was canned. Just didn't get the permanent position he applied for.

He better not have been the one to leak this, or it'll follow him forever if he tries to get on another staff.
