Once you see Antoine Walker, you can’t unsee it.
The wild transition pushes.
The hurried post game.
The sweet, quick release on catch and shoots.
Passing instincts.
Lack of vertical pop.
Defensive “limitations”.

The left handed Amish Antoine Walker. I like it.

Re: #54 Sandro Mamukelashvili
It just doesn't add up for me with Sandro defensively. He's not a complete plodder. His passing skills indicate he sees the floor and anticipates well. Yet, there are so many instances of him standing flat footed defensively right at the rim while a play is being made. His combination of timing/balance/reaction just seems brutally bad.
That said, I think the shooting is for real. He's developed into a sniper with a quick release. I think he can be an NBA weapon offensively right now. You have to hope his defense comes around, but I'm not sure the Bucks can give him the minutes he needs to figure it out defensively. Best case scenario is probably that another GM covets his potential and he can be a valuable trade piece.

Re: #54 Sandro Mamukelashvili
alot of the gripes being made about sandro defensively could easily and justifiably be made about bobby.
i just think in this new bombs away league that yeah you need a lopez in the stable....but alot of these teams we go against also have waves of flamethrowing, active, averagely switchable, non traditional type bigs too.
bigs that can play like sandro offensively and also protect the basket and switch 3-5 positions are not just expensive as hell but practically unicorns.
count me in on sandro. wish we had two of him.

He's young, so he's got time to improve, but I think you're downplaying his defensive issues. It's not that he's not a great defender. It's that he's a bad defender. He slides totally fine, nothing wrong with his foot speed and generally is about as good as you could expect for a guy his size at keeping people in front when he's locked in. The problem is that he falls a little bit further behind the play every time the ball moves. I think he may well have the capacity to get a lot better but right now it can get pretty rough.

Not even slightly comparable. Bucks defense was a whopping 11 points worse with Mamu instead of Portis. Portis is our best defensive center.
