Re: OT: TV and Movies
Finally watched Midnight Mass. Kind of a flawed horror masterpiece. Great work despite major pacing problems and the fact that the characters are constantly giving monologues that sound like they're all coming out of the same mouth. Super interesting angle on the vampire story.

The actors and actresses from Dopesick deserve to win so many awards.

I was a little late in finding them, but "The Babysitter" and its sequel on Netflix were really fun horror comedy watches.

Watched the first 2 episodes of the final season of Narcos Mexico and am enjoying it (as I have with all the other seasons). I've always liked Scoot McNairy
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I’ve read the summary or glanced at the posters for many Predator and Alien movies and asked “why?” But this looks awesome. I’m all in.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
Spoiler:
I think so; between Sara Sherman, Aristotle Athari, and James Austin Johnson (his Trump is dead on) they have some really solid newcomers.
Aristotle did an Angelo bit a few weeks ago (below) that I loved. So weird, to me it’s binary comedy. You’ll either love it or not get it. His AI comedian character on Weekend Update was great too. I think he’s the breakout star of the new cast but there’s definitely tons of talent. I hope it gets weird. This is the way.
Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
I would say it’s hit or miss but in general I think SNL gets more hate than it deserves just because it isn’t the star studded cast that it was back in the day. Weekend update is generally very funny and depending on the week there’s a handful or less funny skits.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
Agree that SNL is hit or miss these days. It's at least consistent enough that we watch most episodes. If it looks like a dud after a couple skits we bail.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
Even when SNL was at its peak the last half hour was usually not very good.

Definitely cool concept. I hope it doesn't fall into the trap of most action movies these days with the over the top CGI. There's juts no weight to the action in those movies. Black Widow, Red Notice. Bunch of crazy action that makes you yawn because it's all fake. The remedy for that is either A) practical effects like Christopher Nolan or B) increase immersion with VR movies putting you in the scene.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
This season of SNL is the best it's been in years.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Anyone that thinks comedy has gotten too PC should watch Curb.
