Think this deserves its own thread. I really wish this was April 1st, and an April Fools joke, but kudos to Ted.

He took a lot of years for me to get used to him. But that said, he became his own legend here.

As fans, we've got a lot of adjustments next year with Jim and now Ted retiring.

One of my favorite local guys for calling it "like it is". He would call out refs, Bucks players, coaches, etc during games. It was always nice to hear.

It's in the bank and collecting interest.

I guess it was time to put it in the bank.

We lose Ted and Jim after the championship season, what a year.

We're spoiled with a lot of our radio/TV guys calling sports in this state - and Ted was definitely no exception. Going to miss him.

Wish I would have heard him more often up here.

Didn't listen a whole lot since I watched on TV but he was good. Doesn't look 70

I heard him in his early years when i lived in WI and he would get a little too excited when either team scored and I'd get a little miffed wanting some home team bias.

But I think he eventually got into a groove and became a great voice for the bucks. I didn't hear him much, but glad he got to go out on top.


Pretty epic ride for these guys to finish their long careers with a championship.

I listened to him a bunch during the Nets series. Burned in my brain. He was awesome, I thought. He, and Jim, will be missed.

Legend. The year I was out of state, I was able to catch the radio more than I could video and really appreciated him at that time.

The only time I ever really listened over an extended time was during the games in the spring of the Oden/Durant draft and we were gunning for the top pick. They didn't get Bucks games (or I was too broke for cable TV) in Wausau and streaming wasn't like it was now. So I'd listen to every game. Ted was so alarmed by the terrible basketball. Made for great radio.

Simply one of the greats.

That was the critique the first 5-6 years and I remember Homer True going after him on it. That's why I did not like him initially. You'd be working in the garage or whatever listening to a game, and then hear a super excited Ted, only to focus and learn that it was Jamaal Mashburn of the Hornets scoring the bucket and not a Buck.

But there was some point where he crossed over and changed his styles, and it was great.

Ted was really good. I used to listen to many of those early 2000s Bucks games on the radio because we had crappy TV service at home and, frankly, it was more fun to listen to Ted on the radio then it was to listen to Jim Paschke on TV.

The way he channeled the energy of the crowd, his exasperation (especially at the refs), and punctuated some big moments sent chills down my spine.

I haven't listened to the radio feed on a regular basis for years. Had I known he was retiring, I would have made a point to. It's a bit of a bummer that he's leaving so quietly, without the same attention that was afforded to his TV counterpart. He deserved to be celebrated as well.

Ted is and was an absolutely great radio guy. Definitely wish I would’ve listened to more of his calls throughout the year. Hindsight is 20/20…

Both he and Jim get to go out with a championship, and I’m sure there’s no better ending for either of them. What a year. What a damned awesome year.

Wow. I spent A LOT of years listening to Ted, as I didn’t have cable. Ted WAS the Bucks to me for a long stretch—players and coaches came and went, but Ted was always there.

I became attached to his sort of dorkier attributes- trying to coin nicknames that never really caught on, getting stressed out in close games (every missed FT or failure to secure a defensive rebound seemed to cause him real pain).

I’ll genuinely miss him, it won’t be the same.
