JayMKE wrote:6' 170lb is too small to not be a defensive liability and at that size they're not going to be able to finish either, that's smaller than Jennings even. Might literally be the smallest guy in the league. Need higher upside than that, I can safely say that's somebody I want no part of.

You're probably right, but to be fair he has a superior wingspan and same standing reach as Jennings, and he actually gives a **** about playing defense. Not my first choice either, just the only real option in our range to be that explosive PnR operator that can shoot that we need.

Without having done any research on this draft I'm still of the opinion that you never draft these kind of players. Undersized guards and bigs that can't stretch the floor or protect the rim shouldn't get drafted unless their skill level is sticking out (e.g. Trae, Sengun).

Getting further into my deep dive.

If I had the number one pick and no one wanted to trade for it, the only guy I consider is Jaden Ivey. So much blah at the top. He’s the only guy with multiple all star potential in this class, IMO.

At that size I think you're too small to really utilize bounciness, I have hard time seeing a guy that small not being a strictly below the rim finisher and be extremely limited in the half court to the point of being a liability.

I want to take a swing on somebody that I can see being a long term piece

Dennis Schroder was 6’1” 165lbs, Seth Curry 6’1” 179lbs. I’d forgotten Larkin had a 5’10” wingspan

Baldwin’s athleticism is obviously highly concerning, but his shot is going to be so appealing to teams. I don’t think he should go back or transfer, ride the wave of that HS recruiting credibility while you still can.

I couldn't tell if it was injuries or what but he looked too slow to me at UWM. Couldn't separate on offense, couldn't stay in front of anybody on defense. The vertical, eh, don't think it matters too much for him.

He looked like he was moving through quicksand in high school.

Heh definitely looks like an NBA wing that would look good in a Bucks jersey.

I don't know if Pat Baldwin Jr ever recovered from that dislocated ankle.

So not only was he mocked to Milwaukee in the Ringer and DX mocks, he's got a workout with the Bucks too.

Seems like a Horst pick. High floor low ceiling kind of guy. We need to draft for future talent and impact vs a plug and play guy that fits into Buds system

I've only watched B1G dudes this season and Liddle is one of the guys I liked. Not sure about him as an NBA prospect, but at #24 I'm not expecting much.

I'll be shocked if Liddell isn't a solid pro. Also, I'm not saying. I'm just saying...

The future is now. It's a luxury to not need to swing for the fences in the draft. Production over potential with the goal of finding an immediate rotational player. Liddell checks those boxes for me.

How would this extreme lack of athleticism and quickness not stood out in high level AAU vs other upper tier prospects?
