Embarrassing. Pretty sure Giannis could walk into the nearest Xsport, point at the first 4 people to walk through the door, and still smash our starting 5.

Haha, my favorite was the post asking the Bulls to stop leaving shooters and just let Giannis get his 30/15. Well he got that anyway

Has a team gone into another team’s building for a pair of playoff games and gave them an almighty beat down like that?

Grayson defends and plays with a nasty chip.

Comparing him to Forbes is extremely insulting to Grayson.

What's most impressive about the Bucks these last 2 games is how they've made Bulls fans hate their own team more than they hate Grayson Allen.

-Jragon- wrote:I saw someone compared Grayson's last 2 games to Forbes last year in round 1. Forbes felt gimmicky to me in that series in a few ways that Grayson doesn't, check these reasons:

1. Grayson has shown he can handle in traffic
2. He can take contact and still finish
3. At 6'4 200lbs he is long and quick enough to not get abused defensively

Now, 2 and 3 are most important because what is different about the playoffs? More physical- that's how the teams get on a guy's head during a long series. And 3, if Grayson misses a few shots but is making defensive plays it doesn't delete him from the rotation unlike what happened to Forbes, Korver, and Mirotic who only could be useful if they are shooting 80% since they were targeted and scores upon on the defensive end.

Concluding then, I think his success can be sustainable and not a gimmick.

That was me. Grayson is a much more well-rounded player than Forbes who is a specialist. Grayson will be a contributor the rest of the way for us - I hope his shooting keeps up and his level continues, even when Middleton returns.

There is some symmetry though between Forbes > Butler and now Allen > Derozan

True but those were always tongue in cheek comparisons. Scoring off of space created by Giannis gravity is much less difficult than creating all your own scoring like DD and Butler

Would be nice if the Nets wake up and take their series to game 7. It's awesome to see Allen step up but I believe we'll need Midds to get past Boston. He was just about to hit the prime Jordan part of his cycle.
We have Giannis Antetokounmpo and you don't. :naaa:

My primary worry about Game 5 is potentially dirty plays. I think the Bulls are pretty checked out on trying to win this series, especially if Caruso doesn't play. I'm going to hold my breath anytime Tristan Thompson is in the game.

Reminder: Grayson also had three steals in the first half. I don't recall Bryn ever doing that.

The funny thing about forcing sh#t is you become dependent on it. Middleton, at times, thinks it's more important that he's shooting (even if it's a crap fade away) than having an open teammate shoot it. We might be just as good without Middleton as long as the dudes we have out there make open shots and share the ball. Defense loses a bit of length without Midds but makes up for it in quickness and hustle that Midds can't do

That being said, I do understand that Midds won us playoff games last year by force, but the role players weren't cashing enough and I think the supporting cast is now better and more worthy of the swing passes

Another challenge with Middleton is he's ball dominant but doesn't require a double team which means teams can jam up the passing lanes and get him a lot of turnovers. It's more effective to get it to Giannis inside - his gravity opens pass lanes and teammates, unlike Midds

Really impressive result being able to back up your game three dominance by doing it again game four.

Hopefully these Grayson performances remind Bud we need to be featuring him more.

One more challenge with Midds in having him be so ball dominant is he doesn't create contact enough and runs from it making his margin for mistakes smaller. Over half of Giannis's missed layups and turnover plays were already called fouls
