Round 2, Game 7, Bucks at Celtics - 5/15/22 - 2:30 - ABC

Windhorst reporting Middleton likely out.

Appearing on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst reported that the Bucks are unlikely to get Khris Middleton back for Game 7 on Sunday.

"Earlier this week, the folks I was talking to were giving me some optimism about Middleton playing this weekend, but that has not happened. That has not developed.

"And now I would say there's pessimism about Sunday, and frankly, I have been told that even if the Bucks advance, the start of the conference finals, there'd be pessimism he'd be ready to start."

I wouldn't expect much from him after being out 3+ weeks but just a few minutes would have given us a boost.

But you play the cards you're dealt. The visiting team is 4-2.

I've learned to never count out the Bucks so even though our backs are to the wall we can win this and I'll stay positive.

GO BUCKS, LET'S DO THIS.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

One game where we shoot 35%+ 3s. Thats the only thing we prob. need to win the game but I dont think our shooters will hit anything and we will lose in the end.

Lets hope Im wrong

Umm... Must win.

These guys seem to play better with their backs against the wall...

Crazy to think that if we could get Brandon Jennings levels of efficiency out of Holiday the series would be over

Hoping for Tatum/Brown/Smart pube game. Have they played a game 7 before?

Hope Giannis has enough in the tank.

Bummer about Khris. Tough to repeat. Too bad it would have been great for the Giannis legacy and I think with our big 3 we had the best team but rarely played like it.

They have better 3 point D. We have Hill who Bud thinks is still a good player. Go Bucks but I am not expecting anything.

There has never been anything more glaring for an adjustment than for Bud to put Pat and Bobby into the starting lineup on Sunday if R Williams is out again. Pat needs to be in the 40 minutes club with Jrue and Giannis

I go with what worked in game 1, Bobby starting, Carter getting minutes.

Celtics 3p%

G1 36% Win
G2 46.5% Loss
G3 27.3% Win
G4 37.8% Loss
G5 32.3% Win
G6 39.5% Loss

The entire series will come down to whether or not they shoot above ~36% from 3 essentially. They don't score in the paint.

It’s astounding that Bud will stumble into something that works just because circumstances forced his hand and he still is too stubborn to adjust his thinking and goes right back to trash that has proven to be ineffective this series. We don’t have an offensive system, play the drop defense with a lumbering center to allow the other team to get in a rhythm until it’s too late, and play horrible lineups. I don’t understand how Bud is a pro coach he does nothing well.

Beating a dead horse , but is just astounding that we have a head coach that is so stubborn on his approach. We get a nice win in game one , then Hill is healthy and we don't play carter again . in the meantime Hill looks done ! Just don't get it ! With that said bucks win and move on despite coach Bud !

Boston is better. The fact that we've taken 3 games off them is down to our championship pedigree. Yeh we're a flawed team but we wouldn't be champions if we weren't mentally tough. Most teams lack this; Tobias mentioned this about his Sixers. I think we'll be 2nd best again in this final game, but that was also the case in game 5 and we won that one. Regardless of the result, if healthy, with our big 3, we're back next year competing.

Ride Giannis/Jrue/Pat/Bobby until they can’t walk. Add a sprinkling of Grayson/Wes/Jevon. That’s it. Nobody else.

I would honestly just like a complete game out of us where we don't play like trash and we actually shoot. We're a good team, but have been just wildly bad this series. I'm shocked we came out with 3 wins. This is ours to steal.

With Giannis we can do it, but somebody has to help him. 44/95 points isn't sustainable or a recipe for winning.

Start Bobby and Pat, bench Brook and Grayson. Challenge early foul calls on Giannis. Go zone when the bench is in. Win.

Quite a defeatist group here. I remember Phoenix -- the legend, and the series.

Can't shy away from a Game Seven. Giannis appears eager. Let's see who is with him. A defining moment for him and for his team.

Feeling 120-104.

George Hill gonna be the patented MVP this game with his 2/1/1 in 19 minutes. Bud stares forward apoplectically, arms crossed, changing nothing, taking his coach's challenge home and tucking it into bed. He is happy, he knows he still has a job for at least two more years. Giannis goes for 70. Bucks lose by 10.

Take it to the books, baby.

All that said, go Bucks.

Start with our best five guys: Giannis, Jrue, Wes, Bobby, Pat. I’d DNP CD Grayson at this point. Roll the dice with Carter, Hill and Lopez off the bench and hope they can at least play the Celtics even.

These games inevitably come down to some unlikely player having a random cracker of a game. Hopefully that can be someone like Pat knocking in six threes or Carter finally being unleashed by Bud.

Celts have the better team but we have the best player. If this is how it ends it’s one hell of a way to end our title defence. Go Bucks!
