2 worst teams face off in an epic matchup.

As usual, keep the trade ideas in the trade thread.

On StubHub you can get in for $8 including fees.

Go Bucks.

We are 1-6 right now.

The last season the Bucks started 1-6 was 1993/94. So this is worst start in last 31 years

1993/94 was Vin Baker rookie year. Starting 5: Eric Murdock, Blue Edwards, Ken Norman, Vin Baker, Frank Brickowski (that team started 1-10 so it will be hard to beat that LOL)

1993/94 was also first year that I cared about NBA. Offcourse, Kukoc was rookie that year in Chicago :D

That squad produced the Bucks' NBA Jam pairing, so it wasn't all bad.

I still have faith that this team isn't done as a contender and that the record (2-5 going by net-rating) is being negatively inflated by really only two losses I'd consider "bad" (Memphis and Brooklyn). But that faith might be tested even with a win here if we don't completely blow these guys out. This could be Doc's Waterloo.

First of a B2B, at New York Friday. It will be interesting to see if Giannis plays both after missing Monday's game. I'm guessing he plays this one, sits out NY and plays Sunday vs. Boston.

I'm excited about this game. It's a win-win. Either they win & get the monkey off their back, or they lose & Doc's fired.

I think the owners would trade everyone on the team before they'd fire Doc. We're stuck with him.

They've invested a lot more $ in the players. They're less movable/replaceable bcuz of cap, apron reasons, lack of viable fa's, conceding our draft pick(s) for foreseeable future. They have to make it work w/ the players. There is no tanking.

The historic breaking pt on coaches is a terrible loss - blowout or vs. a bad team at home - at the end of a rough stretch. And he wouldn't just have the 1-7, but a losing record last yr, after their breaking pt w/ the prior coach was 30-13.

I regularly see the cynicism this or that team isn't going to fire a coach, until the conditions are created.

I think they'd move him upstairs and replace w/ Prunty as an interim again, or just outright can him, if they lose this.

Rooting for a loss because it will force the team to "do something" is misplaced. Move(s) should and will be made but you never want to make a panic move. I agree with Ron, this team can still be/is a contender. As was stated in another thread, only 2 out of 15 teams in the East are over .500. We're #15 but just 2.5 games out of #3.

I don't believe for a second that Doc's job is safe or that he has the full backing of ownership. He was the mid-season "break glass in case of emergency" option after not being a serious candidate just 13-months ago. Don't see how an 18-25 record since then would buy him any faith.

If anything I think he'd be the guy who actually wants to bail, take his money, and not deal with the grind/criticism anymore. You have two established dudes (Ham and Joerger) with ample HC experience waiting in the wings. If this thing doesn't get significantly better, I can easily see the "mutual decision" for Doc to step into a front office role or walk away entirely.

I'm fine with booting Doc upstairs to save face as long as it's ceremonial and he doesn't actually have POBO responsibilities. Put Ham or (preferably) Joerger into the top role and reevaluate everything after the season.

When did I disagree w/ any of that? I didn't say I'm rooting for a loss. I said it's a win/win. That means I'm happy w/ a win. I prefer for the bottom to not have fallen out and to dig the hole more. But if it happens, & it cans Doc, I can enjoy the silver lining.

I wasn't specifically replying to you. There has been some sentiment on the board for several days that losses are ok so we clean house.

yeah, even I get caught up in the 'how many coaches are you paying at once?" talk. $10m isn't a of money when you are talking about about a $1/4b payroll and tax bill you are trying to maximize

I mean if lose this one, I don’t know what to think. Its as close to a must win as you can get the first week of November. Crazy to think the Larry Drew squad started better than this one.

Tickets are real cheap. Can get in lower bowl for under $25 with fees.

We're 2.5 games behind the 4th seed. We suck but finishing 44-31 to go 45-37 will get us 4, 5 or 6. That's doable with decent health and letting the young legs get some run.

I was encouraged by that last game. By encouraged, I mean they can win 45+ games, like I thought before the season. The way they were playing I started to think maybe we were a Play-In team.

Anywho, I have no idea if they win tomorrow. I know nothing about the Jazz except my guy Lauri Markkanen needs to go to a contending team where he can be a solid 2nd or 3rd option.
