Game 11: Raptors at Bucks - 11/12/24 - 7:00 - FDSWI - Dame Out (concussion)

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:22 pm

It doesn't get any better than this. A battle for the #15 seed AND a tournament game. East Group B baby.

The Lakers and their fans don't care or remember that they got bounced 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs. All they care about is that they won the in-season tournament.

First of a B2B (Pistons at home Wednesday).

FiServ should be hopping for both games.

And, as pointed out in other threads, we're only 3 games out of the 3 seed.

Game talk only here please.

Go Bucks!
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully Dame shows up. Toronto wanted him last time he was available, let's get them in the bidding war this time.

If they lose this, it'll be the last game I watch until a major change occurs.

Maybe I've lost my mind but I think the Bucks start a win streak here. I'm hoping anyway.

Pretty crazy to think that they could feasibly rip off 6 of the next 7 here and be sitting at 8-9 despite the horrid start.

Toronto
Detroit x2
Charlotte x2
Chicago
Houston
Indy
Miami
Washington
Atlanta

Hell, that's their next 11-games. If they don't go at least 8-3 during that stretch, then it's probably over with this squad. Blow it up around Dame/Giannis, fire Doc, and reevaluate everything in the offseason.

Agree. if that can't win 70+% in the next 11 or so. EZ firesale/front office/head coach rebuild situation.

Will this be the Utah game or the Chicago? Las Vegas sucks for that line. Flip a coin.

Rules is every post of yrs must begin with "I didn't watch the game."

This goes for literally every post in any thread.

OT: Stocks, schemes, shenanigans of a fiduciary nature: "I didn't watch the game."

OT: Weather: "I didn't watch the game."

OT: Official Connecticut Whale Thread: "I didn't watch the game."

When replying to RS about kitchen appliances: "I didn't watch the game."

Them's the rules.

Win 6 of the next 7 and Doc will look like a winning coach.

I don't disagree but it seems a bridge too far to be paying FOUR coaches! Isn't Bud still on the books? I assume Grief was at least two years. Doc is 4 years 40 million. That would have to be a first to be paying four coaches. That being said, can we pluck assistants mid-season?

Not without permission so probably unlikely. I don’t think they should hire anybody to replace Doc midseason, gotta roll with interim until offseason to find qualified replacement which is what the Bucks should have did last year after Griff. Are they still paying Bud now that’s he’s with Phoenix?

We're forking out $268 million in payroll and luxury tax just for this season. Does anyone really believe Doc's $40 mil factors into whether ownership would pull the plug on him if we're sitting here at 7-14 in early December? I think Ham was absolutely brought in as a contingency option knowing his past relationship with a lot of guys still on the roster. I just didn't think they, like most of us, believed it would be this bad right out of the gate.

They're paying $75m for luxury tax in players alone this season. One coach is $10m. If they think of it like that, it's not so jarring. But it could be tougher if they think about it as paying 4 coaches. That's sunk-cost fallacy though.

I'd go so far as to say if they lose this one, Doc will be fired. Losing record last season w/ a contender, after firing the guy who went 30-13. Then starting 2-9 this season, 3 game loss streak, ending w/ a terrible l at home to a bad team. That's a breaking pt.

They could just retain one of their own assistants. The Prunty eras went better than who he replaced. Should also be cheap.

Giannis, Ajax, and Green are the only 3 Bucks that have been getting me out of my seat lately. Hope to continue seeing more of the youngsters getting meaningful minutes.
