Raptors are terrible but just beat the full strength Celtics and beat the Warriors the game before that.
AJJ looked to be in a lot of pain, I doubt he plays. No idea about Trent.
As usual, please keep this thread about the game and keep the trade/Butler talk in the team thread. Thx.

Toronto is the worst road team in the league at 1-18. Would be a terrible loss.

We have a near +20 net rating in just under 200 minutes with Dame/AJ/Giannis on the floor. 8th best in the league among 600 lineups with that many minutes or more. It’s a combo that makes all the sense in the world on paper and it’s blowing the doors off teams in reality. Let’s stop **** around and just start the dude that is a perfect fit next to our stars.

3 games in 4 days. Hopefully we can get some bench support.

Yeah, we've seen enough of the Andre experiment. You simply can't have SG Ben Simmons in the starting-5 with Giannis. Hopefully Doc understands this eventually.

And not even throwing Ajax under the bus as he's worked his butt off to become a legit rotational player, but he should be a 7th-9th man. Green makes way more sense and provides that much more spacing.

I disagree, SG Ben Simmons is exactly what you need next to PG Dame.

Sounds right in theory but all the evidence has heavily pointed towards the opposite being true. You're just behind the curve in the modern NBA without the 3 point firepower

Ajax was in the starting lineup the last two games when we had our best 1st quarters we have plenty of firepower. Ajax has more size plays great D rebounds and passes good he is getting more comfortable driving to the hoop. I like green and Trent off the bench makes our bench way stronger.

I mean we could just start Green and Dre together and see how that looks for a bit. Green off the bench simply makes no sense to me anymore, I don’t quite care who the other wing is as long as Green is starting and playing big minutes.

Lopez/Giannis/Prince/Ajax/Dame lineup = -2.5 net rating with a defensive rating of 113.6.
Lopez/Giannis/Prince/Green/Dame lineup = 29.6 net rating with a defensive rating of 88.8.

AJJ is questionable, I doubt he plays. Trent is probable.

I agree Green is the better fit as a starter, but I wonder if it's simply Ajax's energy that the coachs want setting the tone?

Lopez/Giannis/Prince/Green/Dame lineup = 29.6 net rating with a defensive rating of 88.8.
Now Lopez, Giannis, Green, Ajax, Dame?
Also, I never said AJax is Ben Simmons....just said if he were somehow the sg version of Ben Simmons that would fit perfectly next to Dame.

I can’t see any lineup data for this 5. Doc doesn’t seem to pair Green and Ajax on the floor together much.

Here’s an interesting stat though. The bucks have 9 diff 5-man units that have played 30min or more together this year. Just 4 of these have a positive net rating. Green features in three of the net positive lineups and Ajax in one.
Perhaps also interesting: Bobby, Brolo and Green are in three of the four net positive lineups. Giannis and Dame only in two.
But yeah, it’s hard to make any substantive conclusions from our lineup data to a degree. Simply putting Dame and Giannis with shooters isn’t necessarily a lock for success. Has to be the right shooters in the right lineups.
Ie: Lopez Dame Giannis Prince and Trent is a -3.3 in 136 mins together.
But Lopez Dame Giannis Prince Green is +29.6 in 71 mins together.
Some shooters seem to gel better in lineups than others.

There is the problem imo. Doc loves his vets. It's not Green vs Ajax.... it's who are the best five on the floor at once and imo it's those five for the most part. Balance of defense and offense.
