Game 41: Sixers at Bucks - 1/19/25 - 6:00 - FDSWI

The season reaches the halfway point. Sixers are a mess. They've dropped 4 straight. They'll be on a B2B, facing Indiana on Saturday.

Embiid is out. Bucks nemesis Lowry is out. George is questionable.

Final game of this homestand before hitting the road Wednesday night.

As always please keep the discussion on this game itself and discuss trades, lineups etc in the team thread. Thx.

Feels like this season is so much more than halfway over. It keeps dragging

Somehow, offseason championship 76ers seem like the worst team the Bucks will have played since the Nets (hmm). Can't lose this one, especially after a week of good vibes.

The Bucks seem to have reached a new level. Three straight easy wins. Three games where they only trailed for a total of 2 minutes. First half leads of 20 or more.

Now I get that it's not like the Bucks are elite again. It's not like they are dominating on the road or beating juggernauts like Boston, Cleveland or OKC. Or Brooklyn.

Still, suddenly being able to roll through mid- tier and bottom feeder teams is a refreshing development after 18-months when blowout homestands never occurred.

The Bucks absurdly easy schedule over the last 8 weeks virtually guaranteed that their record would get over .500. After this next game, the schedule takes a major shift. 23 of the remaining 41 games are on the road. 24 of 41 games are against Western Conference teams. The recent one-sided success of the past week makes the daunting second half schedule more interesting than could have been imagined two weeks ago.

Philly looked like they were getting it together for a bit, after their disastrous start they had a 10-3 stretch that most notably included winning @ Boston on Christmas. But they've backslid since then and are in the early part of an absolutely brutal stretch of their schedule. Their biggest saving grace right now is their recent 4 game skid coincided with a Bulls 4 game skid.

I still expect them to make the play-in, but not to make it out of the play-in

There are plenty of games this season that we just shouldn't have lost, but have. I hope we're doing something different now that these lapses won't happen and we consistently play to our ability.

This feels like it's about version number 4 of this team this season as we ride the rollercoaster.

Bucks Episode 4: A New Hope?

Philly got waxed tonight in Indy. George didn't play. And if he plays tomorrow it shouldn't matter. Who the hell knows though. Full strength Celtics got whipped by the Raptors this week. Bad beats happen every day.

Scott Foster is the crew chief. He'll make sure he gets plenty of screen time.

Dang. Bona it is then, and Pete Nance.
