Picking up where the last thread left off, I wouldn't be that surprised if they stubbed their toe against one of the non-MSU opponents. Oregon's a weird team, they've got one of the better non-conference resumes but are under .500 in the Big Ten and are 1-6 against Big Ten teams with winning records (and 0-3 on the road against such opponents). I'm curious how they do tonight against a bad Iowa team, but one that's much more competitive at home and gave Wisconsin all it could handle a couple weeks ago. And the Minnesota game, Minnesota started conference play 0-6 and are 6-3 since and are only the 2nd team in the conference to sweep LA and while they've dug themselves such a hole that any chance they have of making the tournament probably makes that game a must win. And even if they don't really have a tournament prayer, if Wisconsin wins the next 3, they could very well be a top 5 team and that would be one of the biggest games in that building in many years.

Trying to think of a Tonje comp and my mind keeps coming back to Michael Redd. But like 22-23 year old 2nd or 3rd year in NBA type Mike Redd

Rating this year's transfers

1. John Tonje, Wisconsin Badgers

There is not a player on this list with more big performances in big games this season than Tonje. Just look at the numbers: 41 points against Arizona, 33 against Pitt, 32 at Purdue, 31 against Illinois. Eleven games with at least 20 points, including seven instances in the past eight. He's averaging 19.6 points and 4.8 rebounds after injuries limited him to 2.6 points in eight games at Missouri last season. And, Tonje is playing the best basketball of his career in recent weeks: Over his past eight games, the 6-5 senior is averaging 25.1 points and is a legitimate All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year candidate.

8. Chucky Hepburn, Louisville Cardinals

Hepburn had a solid three seasons at Wisconsin, starting 103 games for Greg Gard and showing effectiveness as a two-way player. Under Pat Kelsey at Louisville, that same defensive intensity has carried over, but he's also been much more aggressive offensively. He's averaging 15.0 points and 6.2 assists this season, with a propensity for big games against good opponents: 32 points against West Virginia, 26 against Kentucky and 26 against North Carolina.

Grass isn't Always Greener - AJ Storr, Kansas Jayhawks

Storr was one of the best players in the portal last spring, coming off a second-team All-Big Ten season at Wisconsin. But he's started just four games for Kansas, struggling to get into a groove on the offensive end. He's averaging 6.3 points after putting up 16.8 last season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Up to a #2 (Milwaukee) in Lunardi's bracketology.

Lunardi's got a quartet that is very interesting for Wisconsin. They'd play Cleveland State, but the 7-10 matchup is Kansas vs Ohio State. And just for good measure, #3 in that bracket is Arizona.
