Game 61: Mavs at Bucks - 3/5/25 - 7:00 - FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Wed Mar 5, 2025 4:09 am

This is a classic trap game, B2B after a tough road win and playing a depleted Dallas team.

My guess is Dame sits, he took a hard shot to the eye. KPJ starts and Rollins gets some minutes.

Kuzma was questionable this morning but played 33 minutes against the Hawks. Not sure how his ankle will be.

Hate to play Giannis in a B2B with the stretch run upcoming and the ultimate goal to be healthy for the playoffs.

Brook is an ironman, he'll play. Everyone else should too.

With a daunting upcoming schedule and being currently tied for #4 this is a game we can't lose.

As usual please keep the discussion on this thread on this game only. Thanks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully this is an easy game where Giannis gets 22 for 20k in 20 min to get his Elite Quality Night to be eligible for awards and every one goes home early with a quick game.

We absolutely have to win this game, the Knicks have a tough 5 game West Coast trip starting tomorrow. We could get within 1 or 2 games back if we play well.

Not sure if you have seen our next 10 games, but at this point I will be content if we win tonight then go 6-4 in the 10 games after that.

That's probably a realistic expectation. But if they really are a contender, then they should go 7-3. The past few weeks only show me that Giannis and Dame can carry a team against bad teams.

I did like Kuzma last night. Very efficient. Didn't take his usual bad shots. If he sticks to that, he's a definite plus.

do we really care about the 3 seed? are the cavs that much better than the Celtics in a 7 game series? I just want us to keep winning to gel and be able to pick and choose games to rest guys at the end of the year.

Agreed about the Knicks. But a win is essential as we are tied with Indy for #4. I'd like to snag HCA in round 1.

I think we matchup better vs the Celtics in a 7 game series. Mitchell and Garland are just so much better than White/Holiday. We have personnel to deal with Brown/Tatum now I think. The Cavs are young and hungry too, I just think the Celtics are so much better for us.

Giannis wants his 7th consecutive All-NBA 1st team. Guessing he'll play and Dame will sit. I'd sit Kuzma too if the ankle is still sore. We should win this no matter who's out there for us though. Dallas might legitimately be fielding an NBA rotation with only 2-3 NBA caliber players.

No, they're a different team without Kyrie. The schedule makers knew what they were doing.

I don't at all care about the 3 seed, if you told me they finish at 4 I'll take it. Its the possible backslide that is the thing to worry about. Indiana isn't going anywhere and they have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league and its probably a little easier than even the numbers say because they play Cleveland in games 80 and 82 and who knows what Cleveland's rotation will be in those games. And Detroit's playing really well and they're probably not going anywhere either.

I really appreciate your updates on his climb up the ladder (and awards eligibility). There was that one game he only played 19 minutes & you posted that there's some exceptions allowed. Just wanted to say thanks! Its why I keep coming back here 20+ years later.

I keep coming back for one reason. Out of all the posters who I don't understand (Daver, Sigra, Jragon, and a few others), Chonestown is the most perplexing. When I finally figure him out, I may never return.
