PG Mavs - Bucks Take Care of Business

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Mar 6, 2025 3:05 am

Not much to take away from facing a depleted team but I will say this:

Last night I said a month ago it would have been a loss. I won't say that about this game. But we've been known to play down to the competition and make expected blowouts way too close. That likely would have happened a month ago. But this team is locked in and it's great to watch. We'll still have some clunkers we'll cry about but right now this team is really fun.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's customary to complain around these parts, so I'll do my best tonight:

I think we need to sign three new 2-way players. Yikes.

My entire offseason checklist consists of bringing back KPJ, Sims, Rollins, and Trent. Good luck, FedEx man.

Good to see Dairy Bird get over his shooting mental block he's had in back to backs.

These are the types of wins you need during a long season. Took care of business on a b2b against a depleted team and were able to give your top guys some much needed rest. Can't ask for much more.

We’re 8-2 in the last 10.

Amazingly Detroit is 9-1. Unbelievable.

Wild what Harrison and the new Mavs ownership group did to that franchise.

The only way they ever save face from this is if the team somehow wins an NBA championship (very unlikely) or Luka flames out with injuries without achieving any success in LA (also unlikely).

It’s utterly unforgivable what they did.

The Pacers are playing well too. The East top 6 are tough.

My daughter made it to the end of the third which I assume was when Giannis and Dame were done so that was good for me. She said she had a good time and she'd go again so that's a double win.

I've been rooting hard for Livingston but he looks like an AAAA player every time he's on the court.

It’s a bummer Dre Jax sucks soooo bad.

He does a lot of the stuff I expected him to do coming out of college, but I certainly didn’t anticipate the insane spazz aspect of his game. I think the NBA just moves too fast for his brain to process.

KPJ is a revelation at guard. He does the guard things.

There wasn't much for tests in this stretch. Really it's just Denver, who missed a lot of open shots. Sort of LAC at home. The Houston loss was bad. Outside of that tcb'ed. Still need to see more.

Finally getting over that Cleveland hump in a couple games will tell be telling. If the games which start that stretch end up in the Bucks winning 2 of 3 against those squads, provided they're near full strength, I'll probably feel they've turned a corner.
