Game 70: Bucks at Kings - 3/22/25 - 9:00 - FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Fri Mar 21, 2025 1:59 pm

This road trip has been a loss to the Warriors without Curry and a win over the Lakers without Luka and Lebron. Now we face the Kings without Sahonis.

Just win baby.

As usual, please keep the posts in this thread on this game only. Thanks.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Win this and avoid the Bud revenge game and I'll still consider this a successful road trip (zero faith we're beating the Nuggets in Denver). Pacers' luck has to run out eventually so we should still be in the driver's seat for the 4-seed.

Doubt it, their schedule is a cakewalk and the 2 games against Cavs end of year are probably freebies.

Nah, after this recent stretch we only got the 21st hardest remaining schedule now, and they have the 16th (Detroit has the 4th hardest SOS). They've also been playing like dog **** ever since the Houston win and have been getting bailed out with a tremendous amount of shot/clutch time luck. Emphasis on the word "should" be in the driver's seat though.

At least we don’t have to worry about Middleton partying with hookers on the South Beach of Sacramento the night before.

The Kings should need the national guard to slow Giannis down. Anything less than a 40 and 15 game from him will be a disappointment. Feed the beast is all.

One of the surest signs of spring is the Kings sliding in the standings.

Giannis needs a break. He is not playing at the ability he usually plays at plus his midrange has been off since his elbow got hurt a few games ago. Thee seeding means nothing if the Bucks don't have a near healthy Giannis that can go to that second and third gear offensively and defensively.

When they were the Cincinnati Royals they gave us Oscar, but the gratitude statute of limitations is over.

Crush them and build some better habits.

When we beat them in January we scored 47 in the first and coasted to an easy win. It's the last time Crowder saw the court (2 minutes)

Should rest Giannis, I really don't understand why we are not actively pursuing the 6 seed.

Makes no sense.

You could shut Giannis down right now and then just play him the final week of the regular season for conditioning purposes and be the #6 seed.

If you play Giannis 30+ minutes and run him into the ground and risk him getting inured in these final 13 games, you're likley going to be the #6 seed anyway.

And that's before we get to the fact that the Bucks would have just as good, if not a better shot vs the Knicks than as they would vs the Pacers.

I don't think the Bucks are beating either the Knicks or Pacers in a best of 7 series, but I think they would have a slightly better shot vs the Knicks.

I know the Bucks wouldn't beat the Wizards in a best of 7 series without Giannis. It would be smart to just shut him down right now.

Unless every team that we play in these final 13 games rests their 2 best players when they play us. Then maybe we can grab the #4 seed.

Just shut Giannis down and accept your fate as the #6 seed and hope that a healthy and rested Giannis goes wild in Madison Square Garden.

It's not worth risking Giannis' health in a futile attempt to try and grab the #4 or # 5 seed, just to get beat by the Pacers in round 1 for the 2nd straight year even if you get the #4 or #5 seed.

I get that Pacers got off to a slow start this season, but it's crazy how a lot of you guys on this board still continue to underestimate them.

Giannis misses 2 games and you guys talk for a month how he’s rusty and now you want to shut him down for a month?

The bucks matchup way better against the pacers than the knicks. I would be pretty surprised to see them beat either at this point so it doesn’t really matter what they do to me. Just think it’s weird that the knicks are the preferred choice even if Brunson is injured right now.

Giannis has only suited up healthy in the playoffs a handful of times since 2019.

2020: Hurt/missed games
2021: Hurt/missed games (But still awesome)
2022: Healthy
2023: Hurt/missed games
2023: Hurt/didn't suit up

Obviously I would feel different about shutting Giannis down these final 13 games if that wasn't Giannis' track record.

I would also feel a lot different if the result wouldn't likley be the same (#6 seed) whether we shut Giannis down these final 13 games, or if we run him into the ground these final 13 games.

If hypothetically we were a serious contender and we were on Cleveland's heels for the #1 seed, that would be a totally different story.

Shut Giannis down let him be healthy and rested going into the playoffs and then hope he goes full MVP mode on the fraudulent Knicks.

IMO that's our only real hope to win our 2nd playoff series since 2021.

I agree, all this stuff we are arguing about is most likley moot.

It is very unlikely that even with a healthy Giannis, the Bucks are beating the Pacers or Knicks in a best of 7 series.

I think the Knicks are better on paper than the Pacers, but the Knicks would be a slightly more favorable match-up for us. I also really don't like Doc vs Carlise, especially in a best of 7 series.

Doc is horrible, but I actually think he might be able to do some things against Tom Thibodeau.

Playoff Giannis in MSG could be fun.
