2025 Playoffs - Round 1, Game 4 - Pacers at Bucks - 4/27/25 - 8:30 - TNT/FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Sat Apr 26, 2025 2:52 pm

Late night game.

There are between game adjustments and in-game adjustments. Carlisle made no adjustments when Trent started heating up. Trent shot 41.6% from 3 this season, it's not like shooting well was an anomaly. He shot 59% from 3 in the 4 regular season games against Indy. And yet he seemed to take Carlisle by surprise. Obviously we can't count on another scorcher from Trent, but Indy will/should pay more attention to him. Dame needs to start hitting shots. Bobby needs to hit shots (good shooting game 2, poor shooting games 1 and 3).

Brook is unplayable in this series. A big part of why we keep digging early holes. We can't keep doing that. Bobby needs to start. Up Sims minutes. Brook can be used only if there is foul trouble early. Brook's minutes have been 21, 16, 15. I love you Brook but you need to sit this one out.

Playoff basketball is nothing like the regular season. KPJ is getting his first taste of it. Green his first meaningful taste of it. Green was very good in games 1 and 3, he needs a good game 4. KPJ as well. Kuzma had some of his crazy shots go in last night but he can't be counted on at all.

Can't count on Turner having a horrid shooting night again.

It seemed as if Haliburton kept jacking up air balls but he was 4-9 from 3 and his shooting has got better each game.

Siakim is just a very very good player. You can't shut him down, you can just hope to contain him.

This will be a battle. I can't wait.

GO BUCKS.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully Lillard trends upward and Trent, Green, and Bobby stay consistent. If we do that and KPJ gets a better taste for the playoffs we could take off.

Another curb stomping would be nice. Less Prince. Go Bucks

Dame/GTJ/Green/Giannis/Bobby. Start it, spam it. Cut Prince/Kuzma out entirely.

100% agree. If we don’t see this lineup after how well it worked in game 3, I will be livid.

We need more people to up their averages in the future games. But. Our defense is our ticket going forward.
We need to deploy our best available lineups and grind them down.

We can try Lopez, Kuzma and Prince in limited minutes but the moment we see thay don't work, on the bench they go. Hell, add Rollins on that list.
Also more Sims going forward.

On another note, does anyone else remember KPJr hurting his hand against the Pistons? He kept playing so I thought he was fine, but I wonder if he's playing hurt and that hinders his shooting and passing somewhat, because he's thrown some very bad shots and passes in these 3 games so far.

Stick to the 8 man lineup unless there's foul trouble and we win this one.

Dame/Trent/Green/KPJ/Giannis/Bobby/Sims with Kuzma only playing limited minutes at the 4 needs to be the lineup going forward. Only dust off Prince, Brook, or Pat for a couple minutes if you absolutely have to due to foul trouble/injuries.Will it finally click for Doc?

You can't say Trent was an obvious start next to Lillard when they've been 4-5 pts per 100 under water every season together defensively. Hard to win big when they do that, even if they're elite offensively.

That said, Green sanitizes a lot of these lineups defensively, regardless if he plays at the 3. The top minute LIllard-Trent lineups allowed 121 & 117 per 100. But Lillard-Trent-Green allowed 108 & 102. Makes sense w/ Nesmith at 3. Though Trent nor Green are ideal on Hali.

More Sims and AJ please. Sims was rebounding really well, also loved how well AJ defended Siakam despite the size difference.

I like how Pat was hard to post up because he was strong as hell, and now we have an even more yoked version in Dairy.

Can’t wait to see what Dr. Frankenstein’s got cooking up next.

I don't think we can count on them being that cold from 3 again, but we were also missing a lot in the first half. I think both teams will execute better tomorrow as a whole, even if Trent cools off.

OK Doc let's keep adjusting. It's time Lopez goes to the bench too. It's not a shame Brook, it won't be for long, you will be back in the starting five against Cleveland. Doc needs to match Lopez with Bryant's minutes.

Lillard (36)/Porter (12)
Trent (32)/Porter (16)
Kuzma (20)/Green (28)
Giannis (38)/Sims (10)
Portis (32)/Lopez (16)

Very odd starting time, 8:30 on a Sunday? Hopefully that doesn't deter any fans, we could use a full Fiserv.

Friendly suggestion Slos:

Next time you think of Kyle Kuzma, picture Semi Ojeleye. That will disuade you ever again from proposing that he play 20 minutes a game.

Lastly, this is the playoffs. Giannis should be playing 42 minutes a game minimum.
