Optimism?

We are only 5 games out of the 4th seed, and there are what, 50 more games?
I think we should delay the whole tank and draft threads for about another 20 games...if it still looks terrible by then, we can talk.
Until then, this team has a realistic shot at the playoffs.

I'd rather we be a bottom three team in the NBA than a team that sneaks into the playoffs as one of the #7 or #8 seeds. We need another stud prospect.

Here's another cause for optimism: It's hard for the team to play worse than it is right now. So hey, surely better times are ahead, right?

I agree, to an extent. I would love to see the Bucks in the playoffs no matter what, and if we drafted well at 15-20, we could come away with an Al Jefferson or Josh Smith (2004), a Danny Granger (2005).
If we could get into the playoffs and draft well, the playoff experience would be good for Mo, Yi, and Bogut moving forward.

This is like the argument last year, oh we're only 4 games out of the 8th seed why tank? Well the answer is obvious, who wants to see this team get demolished in the playoffs or even worse just miss the playoffs and not even get to watch playoff games and not get excited about the lottery because you're one of the best lottery teams.
This team needs to add talent to the roster not let's hope for the 8th seed and watch them get killed.

The fact that we have played like complete crap and are still only 4 games out of the playoffs makes me optimistic.
I think this team can keep up record wise with Atlanta, Indiana, Toronto, and Cleveland, to sneak into a 7th or 8th seed.

Personally I think all those teams are easily better than us. I'd add Chicago to the list too - its much more likely IMO that they turn it around than that we do.
Over the last 20 games or so, we are one of the worst teams in the league. Something like 5-16.

That's not allowed.. only threads about trading Michael Redd, established board credibility, or anything else that says the team completely sucks can be posted.

25 win team >>>> 38-41 win team
We're not making the playoffs, so lets just get that out of the way now.

We are now only 3.5 games out of the 6 seed.
I think there is room for optimism folks!

This from the poster who started a thread on CB being the worst player in the nba? Damn pesimism changes to optimism quickly around here, and vice versa.
Me I'd rather optimism, i'm not sure when this sport changed so much that people would actually prefer their team to lose than win, but it blows.

i'm still hanging on. i'd much rather see us lose in the 1st round than get the #10 pick (+/-5). if last year wasn't a lesson in tanking, i don't know what is.
the bucks making the playoffs? or the bucks in the lottery again? which is more appealing to quality free agents?

I stand by what I said in that thread. I still think Charlie can improve, and this team can be good whether he improves his play (like he did tonight) or not.
Hopefully he does, but the rest of the season isn't contingent on him doing so, in my opinion.

If you think the team is bad, you don't have faith in LH, which means that you wouldn't want him to be the one making the moves that will purportedly set this team up for the future. To me, that means that you'll have to wait until the offseason to make any major changes because midseason isn't the best time for a comprehensive GM search (could be wrong on that). If you do want to just hire Rick Sund and dump Redd, that can wait until nearer the trade deadline.

No it is not!
Teams are better. This team is not gonna win jack crap as it is now situated.

Money is what attracts FA's.
But I'm with you. . . I have a lot more fun attending playoff games than I do sitting at a bar watching the draft. . . Which, by the way, I can still do when the Bucks make the P-offs
