These "Western Conference officials" really know how to take a detailed and in-depth look at the talent level on our roster. We should hire one of these guys as our GM!

Woelfel might as well be on LH's payroll.

Interesting read. No mention of Redd.

I like this article. It brings up some very good points. Being the 3rd youngest starting lineup in the NBA, our team isn't built to "win now". However, that is what everyone expects from this outrageously young team.

Even so, Harris has made some mistakes. If young is the way he wants to go, it doesn't make sense as to why he'd sign some "older" (middle 20's) guys to long term deals. Having Redd is great because it'd at least bring us a few victories while the younger guys improved, but he locked up Simmons and Gadzuric too. I just don't understand why a player of Gadzuric's talent could possibly sign such a long term deal, let alone a deal for so much money.

Anonymous sources, especially with someone like Woelfel who likes to act like he's an insider, are always dubious.

Why would he not. It was like a gold mine for Gadz.

i find it bizzare that simmons' contract was mentioned and not gadz. Could it be because simmons contract and subsequent injury can be seen as 'bad luck', whereas gadz, well, can't?

I was saying how "could" he. Like how was he able to get such a long-term deal. I don't see any other teams offering him 6 years like we did.

I'd be close to done here if we make a backwards move and hire Rick freaking Sund.

There's just no vision for this team. "Let's just aim for the playoffs," knowing that we'll get destroyed for years in a row at best. No championship aspirations.

[reagan]Mr. Kohl, sell this team.[/reagan]

Gery needs to start calling out some players and team management. He has zero problems calling out Ted Thompson who has had far more success than Larry Harris....and calling out packer players as well. But he just can't bring himself to say anything negative about the Bucks.

What I'm trying to figure out is how that guy (Wojanarski?) from Yahoo sports got the Collins/Sund over everyone in the our local media.

And if Collins would take the job for $2mm a year, why wouldn't Kohl just pay that? If he got a four-year deal, the difference between $4mm and $8mm is a drop in the bucket compared to the player salaries. I know Kohl absolutely doesn't want to pay a dime if he doesn't think he has to, but $2mm is peanuts compared to what he was paying George Karl.

Isn't this the most important job in the franchise? I have a hard time believing those quoted numbers are accurate.

What the hell is the point of bringing in any GM? It's not like Kohl will allow him to do his job anyway.

I have known a few beat reporters in my day and its almost impossible for them to routinely call out players for poor play, especially in a place like Milwaukee where you only have a couple reporters following a team, its easy for the players to rally against a reporter and has been done before. I have absolutely no doubt that Woelfel has a certain number of basketball execs that he talks to, he has been doing this for awhile and some guys love to talk and others have agendas. Woelfel gets into trouble because he also talks to agents, who always have agendas and I think thats where he gets played. I for one think Collins is nothing but hype and don't believe he is worth what he is asking, Sund is less then zero on the scale..........thought it was an interesting read until he said the execs think Bogut is one of the best young centers in the league, they obviously have lost all credibility there, he sucks and at least alot of informed people here know that.

I am curious about what guys like Europa and Gadz have heard about Harris..........I know Europa can't stand him but it appears you both have league wide contacts, I think he was pretty well thought of at least 1-2 years ago.

Well I hope we either deal for another star type player or trade Redd by the deadline... Either commit to trying to win or actually rebuild around your young talent.

Bingo. I guess I'd be down for either scenario, but now that we're in such a big hole, I'd rather go the trade Redd route.

For better or worse, Doug Collins would have more power than Larry Harris.

Doug Collins is a former all-star player....long-time coach.....top-shelf broadcaster.....and he is smooth and polished. Kohl will respect that and defer more to him.

Contrast that with Larry, who Kohl has watched come up the ranks from being the video guy with the team 16-18 years ago and hasn't ever played or coached in the league. And is still a young guy at 43 or whatever.

All that said, Larry Harris with full power might be a much better GM than Collins.....but the realities of the pedigree are that Collins will get his way with Kohl for the first two-years or so.....then if it doesn't work Kohl will start to put the heat on.

Only problem PP is NONE of that translates into good decision maker.

I like how you conveniently ignored that the same section also listed Mo (who you constantly criticize) as one of the better young PG's in the NBA.

Do you agree with that part? Or do you just get to pick and choose which parts of the exact same quote are going to be used in relation to ongoing arguments on this board?

On second thought, I already know the answer to that question.

I agree with the masses Mo is great, Bogut's the problem.
