So in another thread (forgot which), someone (forgot who) alluded to Woeful stating that CV's value has "skyrocketed" and may be on the block for a Western conference starter, likely at SF.

Who makes sense. Note, these are not actual trades, just potential targets.

LA Clippers: Corey Maggette. No Brand, have been trying to move Maggette forever.

Phoenix: Diaw/Marion. Marion was offered to us for Yi. Suns need to shed some contracts.

Sacto: Ron Artest. They really have no PF, and have been trying to move Artest.

NOH: Morris Peterson. Mo Pete has been decent, but so has Rasual Butler. They need some frontcourt depth.

Houston: Bonzi Wells. Lazy, contract year guy. May try to sell high.

Minnesota: Ryan Gomes. Just makes sense. Corey Brewer? Has been fairly disappointing. CV could be a decent complement to Jefferson's inside game.

Golden State: Has a plethora of 3's. Take your pick.

Can't see anyone else making too much sense at this point.

Diaw is the ONLY player that makes sense for the Bucks to go after....the ONLY player.

Except that Diaw sucks and is tied to a long term deal. We have enough of those guys.

Must have missed that one. I have no idea why his value would skyrocket.

CV for J Wright?

I know he said he got this information from Western Conference Executives, but I don't know if that means it necessarily would be a Western Conference Small Forward?

And skyrocketing is probably a relative term when discussing CV.

Rasual Butler has been terrible.

None of those trades seem very realistic save maybe Ryan Gomes. Linas Kleiza is still my guy if we trade CV for a small forward, but I don't think the Nuggets rush to make that deal at this point.

Larry should try to talk Utah into giving swaping Paul Millsap for Villanueva.

Marion for Yi would have been sweet

Diaw or Julian Wright for sure.

Smarts and ability to move the ball is key.

CV for Artest. That would be awesome!

That would work. As long as we could talk Artest and his crazy self into staying.

That team can score and defend.

Artest on the Bucks sounds like a recipe for disaster. I can't see Artest accepting Redd as a leader (or vice versa), which means team chemistry would deteriorate further.

Diaw was succesful on the Suns as a PF/C only, he has barely played SF at all. Main reason he was good was because of the mismatches he had against slower big guys, which allowed him to created shots for himself and his teammates.

Magette and Gomes sound like realistic targets.

Villanueva for Wells would be a great trade for the Bucks but I don't think the Rockets would go for it. Wells would be a major upgrade at SF and is a better player than Villanueva without question in my opinion.

I mentioned Villanueva/Gadz for Maggette in my Redd trade proposal thread. I think that's very viable if the Clippers are high on Villanueva. They would love to trade Maggette if they can get decent value for him.

I don't even want to think about Villanueva for Gomes. Even though Villanueva isn't very good, it's depressing to think about any trade where the Bucks give up anything for a player they should have drafted.

If the Bucks could con the T'Wolves into taking Villanueva for Brewer I might almost be inclined to keep Harris around for another season. Well maybe not. But that would be an incredible heist in my opinion.

then who should we trade for to be our Doug Christie? We already have Bibby (Mo), Stojakovic (Redd), Divac (Bogut) and hopefully Webber (Yi).

Those SAC teams wouldn't have been that good if they didn't always have the best bench in the League. Anyways, Q.Ross is a Christie type player. Cares more about lock down D then his own offense. Ross has no range, though.

Bobby Simmons is showing flashes, IMO. All he has to do is keep hustling and rebounding, eventually the jumper will come back.

Everyone's scared of Artest, but his talent is undeniable and he brings exactly what this team is lacking on the wing.

Recipe for disaster? Well perhaps, but we aren't exactly doing well in the chemistry area right now and a change is in order. Of some type. I certainly don't want us to be conservative. This would be a risk, but might be well worth it.

Crazy Artest has been reasonably stable for awhile now.

Diaw is not a good option imo, but Gomes is reasonable.

I can't see any deal being made until we get a statement from Kohl on the GM position....either movement towards Larry's replacement or a public vote of confidence in Larry.

Every GM who gets on the phone with Larry will ask themselves "why bother" if Larry right now may not be in power a week from today. This would be on top of the normal issues Larry has to deal with, as other GM's know he has to get sign off from Kohl on most things.

I'd like to see us make a play for Gomes...he'd be ideal and he seems expendable in MN. The guy can play SF, but can also bang with PF's. Plus he's young and would help round out our front line quite nicely.


I'd also really like to get our hands on Maggette, but I think he can opt out at the end of the year. So I'm skeptical to dump CV for a 3 month rental of Maggette.


Linas Kleiza would be a great addition, but I don't see why Denver would move him.

Pietrus would be a great addition, but I wouldn't want to give them CV unless we signed Pietrus to an extension.

In the Warriors system I could see CV averaging 15 points instantly

Charlie V can average 15 points no problem as long as you put him on the court. The issue is can you hide his defensive liabilities enough to warrant 30 plus mpg.
