1) The senator is fighting tooth and nail NOT to trade Charlie V....he is a fav of the senator....but willing to deal Bell, Danny G. and Simmons.
2) This really isn't a bombshell but it appears Rick Sund wants to take Mark Murphy's old job as AD at Northwestern.

Thanks for buying the team Herb. It's time to move along now.

Or maybe Rick Sund has Mark Bartlestein as his agent and has learned that all you need is to pretend that another team or college (U. of Utah) is interested in you and Kohl will pay double.
On the CV front, we don't know the context. It could be that the Larrys presented Kohl with a CV for Renaldo Balkman type deal to find a stopgap SF to help them both save their jobs......a deal that I wouldn't do either.

So Harris can't make a trade because the senator LIKES CV? That's ridiculous.

Now that CV is starting to finally get some burn i don't want him traded either, but at the same time i definitely don't want our owner constatntly overriding our gm, cause it's worked so well in the past.

Maybe he "likes him".

If we're not giving up this season, I think CV really showed his value you to us tonight. Yi looked awful, CV steps in and produces giving a huge boost to the team.

The Sixers don't have a top tier PF....so there was no one out there to give CV fits....
This was however one of CV's best games....he's one of the best interior scorers in the league when his brain is working correctly....although I agree he's not in gear that often.

This would seem to match up with the Yahoo story which said Kohl hasn't been as enamored with Yi as most others have been.
This smells of what the Brewers did a couple of seasons ago when Jenkins got red hot and they didn't trade him. They failed miserably to capitalize on his higher trade value because they mistakenly believed it was an indication he was going to play better in the long run despite all the signs which indicated that wasn't likely to occur.

I agree on both counts. Especially, if we trade CV now we are becoming thin at the PF position and with Yi's inconsistent form of late I like having CV there as a decent back-up (moreso than Ruffin who deserves spot minutes in the rotation to sure up the D and provide some hustle).
If CV is to go, it needs to be for a quality 3, not just a stop-gap that will provide little long-term security at that position.
With Bell coming around, and Simmons showing glimpses (albeit small) of his former abilities I'm less willing to load them off now then a few weeks ago. But I would surely take the right deal if it came along.
Gadz can move on, no worries there.
Would still like to see the team shop Redd and get a gauge at what he is worth. I would still send him packing if we got a better suited player and/or pieces to build to the future.

I think given the court time and a starters roll CV can get much hotter than this. We sometimes forget he too is very young, possibly even younger than Yi......

What? They didn't trade Jenkins because they had no better outfield options at the time and Lee was going to be a free agent.

I probably agree with you with two qualifiers though. CV is only 23. And in terms of what a guy brings to the team, CV's "potential" as a big man who can score like he can is a much more valuable commodity in a relative sense with the NBA than a corner outfielder who can hit 26hrs/90rbi is in MLB.
So that's why I'd use this opportunity to offer Redd and CV to Memphis for Pau....

It's funny because alot of people outside of Milwaukee have no idea what you're talking about. I'm originally from Milwaukee where it's kinda common knowledge, but people here in Madison have no idea.

The Chris Gatling comparison is a pretty damn good one. That's probably the best one we've seen yet. Nicely done Chuck.
